    Solo trip to the USA
Having finished uni now and I've got some savings, I want to travel to somewhere far from this rock.

I was thinking of going to the States but as a solo traveler, is this safe? Is it even a good idea? Or should I ask one or two of my friends if they would like to go as well?

Maybe take friends as company or you could meet people over there and travel with them perhaps ?

If you go, please go to Arizona - it's seriously the most incredible place!

TA, Contiki and Green Tortoise all run tours that are 80%+ solo travellers.
If you want to see something other than the cities (and their national parks are one of my highlights of years of travelling), you'll need a car or a tour - public transport is ok for the cities, but beyond that, you're stuck.

I'll just point out that you don't need to go on an organised tour if you want to meet/travel with other people. Stay in hostels and you'll almost be guaranteed to bump into people who may be going a similar way to you/a way that looks better than yours etc.
