I am about start uni for the first time (im a guy by the way) and i want to know the kind of attire mostly worn on and around campus mainly to assist me with shopping.

Most guys just wear casual, everyday clothes. Jeans/chinos, t-shirt, hoodie/jacket, shoes/trainers. I'd say make sure you have lots of t-shirts because if you're living in halls, sometimes its really difficult to bag yourself a washer when you want one (if they are in a laundry room), and you need a big supply to keep you going!

I don't know about other unis, but people just wear whatever they can find! Depending on what course they're on some have 'uniforms' (e.g. our physiotherapy/sports science students have trackies) but everyone else just wear whatever and don't really care what other people wear either

The dress code is wear whatever the hell you want. I had people in my lecutres wearing pyjamas (although I wouldn't recommend it), a dude who occasionally turned up in a kilt and another guy who used to wear a suit, complete with waistcoat, leather satchel type briefcase and everything. I usually just wore dresses or jeans with a nice-ish top because I don't like going out in joggers.

I would say there actually is a fresher uniform. Usually for males it's brightly coloured t-shirts often with cartoon characters on them. Also, a generally gormless look.

Anything you want man. Just go casual and whatever you feel like wearing. Just because someones wearing one thing doesn't mean you have too! As long as you're not wearing a tuxedo to uni then you should be fine!

There's no dress code - you'll see all sorts on campus. There's a standard amount of A&F about, lots of university hoodies, tons of guys in joggers & flip flops, plenty of girls manicured to absolute perfection and everyone else is just in your usual casual wear.

If there are halls on campus then you can guarantee to see a fair few people in their pyjamas hanging about once it gets midway through the year and nobody cares anymore.

Don't worry about it! Wear what you like.
