job seekers allowance
Hi,
Need a bit of advise.
I am a mature student and I just finished my first year exams.
I have nearly 4 months to kill, so I thought I will look for work full time work.
But I have a problem, I have hardly any money left and I cannot ask my parents and inorder to find work and travel I need a small income.
Is it possible to sign up for job seekers allowance since I am looking for full time work? -
Re: job seekers allowanceWhat if I show my bank statements which shows I have no money(Original post by Idle)
Not when you are in between years of university no.

Re: job seekers allowance
Your student loan is supposed to cover you for the summer too (that's why you get a lot in April even though most people finish pretty soon after). I know in most cases it doesn't though so you could check to see if you uni has any bursarys? Use your overdraft while you search for work?
You can't claim JSA though, only when you officially finish uni you can.
