M100 - Immediate Afghanistan withdrawal motion
M100 - Immediate Afghanistan withdrawal motion, internetguruThe house believes it is time to withdraw from the war in Afghanistan and other territories fighting Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda no longer poses an immediate threat like they did in 2001 thus the need to continue fighting no longer remains. We mourn the loss of all loyal British subjects and innocents lost in the war on terror. It is time to withdraw immediately, mission complete.

It'd be very discourteous to pull out early when we've not yet satisfied their need for stability. We should not be selfish lovers.

Not immediately. All that would happen would be a dissolve in to back how it was before.

We should have a filter on what gets submitted to the House for this kind of crap.

Absolutely no. We started the job and we have to finish it. Thank god that motions can only suggest a course of action.

As Defence Secretary, no. It will fall back into the hands of the Taliban.

Did you notice at the end of the motion 'mission complete' that means we finished the job.

I did, I then assumed that it was a joke motion and was sadly disappointed that you were being serious. You're woefully uninformed if you think that the job is complete.

The job was to kill Bin Laden and smash Al Qaeda that has been done.

The job was to remove the Taliban rule and establish democracy in Afghanistan, that has not been completed.

No it wasn't where did you get that idea? We don't give a damn about establishing democracy. Our aim is to keep us safe that was the ONLY reason for this war.

See Alofleicester. Have we smashed Al Qaeda? Not really, many versions of it are present elsewhere we're simply pushing it back for the time being in my opinion. Have we established a stable democracy? No.

Did I say I agreed with the causes? No. What I'm saying is that you're wrong to say that the war is over and it's mission complete.

Look at the discussions in 2001 before they invaded nowhere is there anything about removing the Taliban and establishing democracy.

The US saying the aim was also remove the Taliban rule and establish stable democracy.

Oh, and if we leave without establishing democracy and the Taliban still in charge, then we've not removed Al-Qaeda's usage of the country as a base, given the Taliban/Al-Qaeda links.

I don't support any wars, but once we're in, we need to at least stay until the job is complete and the country has been stabilised.

The mission changed. Initially it was basically to stop Al Qaeda, but the mission developed and is now something different. The initial mission aims may be fulfilled, but the subsequent ones are still on going.

The Taliban haven't been in power for 11 years and there is democracy. The Taliban aren't suddenly going to disappear so if we go by these standards we will never leave.
