Muslims, if the Kaaba is destroyed...
... by a natural disaster or a man made event, what would your reaction be? Would it affect your faith?

“The Blood of a Muslim is worth more than the Ka’aba.”

What point are you trying to make? Do you mean to say it wouldn't affect you since Muslims are killed every day?

In terms of today, in accordance to Islam, it shouldn't affect me much.

Like anything important or significant e.g. World Trade Center, Pisa, etc, the people of Mecca would rebuild it and get funds from other Muslims?

But then what about Hajj? How is that possible without the Kaaba? Muslims believe that the Kaaba will be destroyed one day yet there doesn't seem to be a plan B for Hajj when that happens.

The Kaaba is meant to be sacred, Muslims believe it is the house of God in a metaphorical sense. Normal people cannot build it as it wouldn't be the same Kaaba and therefore the rite of Hajj would not be possible.

That'll happen in the end of times according to Islam where no faithful believer will remain. It's not going to make a lot of difference.

But say it happened tomorrow. What would your reaction be then?

Really? I read somewhere that it was flooded once, and they had to make repairs to it, and if I'm not mistaken, the people who repaired it were what you called 'normal' people lol.

And no, I've never heard it's the house of God, even metaphorically! If I'm not mistaken, it's the direction where the Muslims would direct their prayers to - that has also been acknowledged by a teacher of mine that practices a different religion!

What if North Korea and the USA in a joint operation nuked Mecca?

Yes repairs have been carried out but the original structure remains intact. This hypothetical scenario involves the Kaaba being completely destroyed to the point that a completely new one would have to be built in it's place, not just a few repairs or extensions.

Just how we all look after our own houses, God will look after His.

What if nothing happens and the Kaaba remains a smoking ruin?

Well, no it won't effect my faith, might just make me a stronger believer, the kaba was previously destroyed by a flood, and it was rebuilt by prophet mohamed.

But the foundations of the kaaba are really strong, about 6m under ground.

And after all God is the protector

I guess, just like anything, rebuild it again? I don't think the original structure is that important; the site is more important. Like I said, as I understand, it's just a direction for Muslims to point where they pray - if not, every Muslims would point to different directions lol. The rocks and the foundation of the Kaaba, if lost, would be a big significant lost to the Muslims, but I think life still goes on, and they will still pray as usual - because they would still know where the place wouldn't they? Muslims don't worship the Kaaba.

It's impossible to completely destroy it.

Let it be like so, it was God's will. We can't answer these types of things because it has never happened. Up until now, there is a Kaaba and we will keep going there for Pilgrimage and continue with our religion as normal
