You would think oh God, science and maths crappp. But they were fine, its this crappy d.t. where we spent our first year doing nothing and the entire second year doing coursework, I believe I did get enough marks for an A* in the coursework but I know nothing for this exam and I think its something that I learn better with a teacher explaining it and not a guide :/

Then you only need a C in the exam to get an A overall xD

My teacher said I got a few off full, but didn't tell me my exact mark. But I actually worked hard on that courseowkr because I knew then I wouldnt have to do amazing in the exam. In the past papers it always asks for like the advantages and what this component does in this circuit, so a lot I can kinda guess anyways. You been revising much? I was given a guide but it isnt that good, and ithe exam is tomorrow!! Im gonna just look at the past papers now

This is my last exam :woo:

I only lost one mark in my coursework so I'm feeling quite confident

I've also been given a useless guide and I'm struggling to find much other revision material. It doesn't help that there are only two past papers fro this spec which I've both done. So now I'm just looking at mark schemes and examiners reports and hoping for some nice questions!

Believe me, just try your best in the coursework, then it means you can do crap in the exam and still get a good grade. Im going to go into this exam with basically general knowledge and knowledge from past papers + a bit of systems knowledge but I just forget it all. I'll tell you how I do, haha (crap), when I get my results

Does anyone know the approximate grade boundaries, for coursework and the exams separately, or for both combined (raw marks) ? Thanks.

Oh, and, is it possible to get coursework re-marked after the results? Because our teacher said that several of us had done enough to get high A*s, and then gave us As for some unknown reason, and, having looked at the spec, I really don't understand why he didn't give anyone an A*, unless he was just hesitant. I know moderation should check for this but he's the only teacher so there was no internal moderation, and I'm not sure whether any of these people's work was sent off for external moderation, so it might not be picked up.

all schools will be externally moderated, they usually pick a few from the group and see if the teacher's marking is accurate, so don't worry, if your teacher has marked badly, they'll pick up on it. Although he may just not want to get moderated down because at my school last year a moderator unfairly deemed my teacher's marking to be off so moved the entire group down 10 marks!

Yeah, it's a fair concern, I think that's why he hasn't given people A*s, but I do think there are people that deserve them and so it is frustrating. Perhaps I was ambiguous in my phrasing - I know that people's work from our classes have been sent off, but I don't know if any of the would-be-A* students' work has been selected, hence the worry. If I ace the exam tomorrow, I might still get an A*, but it will be disappointing if my lower coursework means I can't get one.

oh I see what you mean. yeah it's just luck of the draw who gets selected, you never know you might get lucky!

Thanks, at least there's still a slim chance of getting an A*... hopefully the paper will be alright tomorrow! And also the mark scheme - I've found that they can be really odd in their allocations of marks.
