Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens Final
piss poor i think, didnt help himself much either in the speech, 150 point lost and probably and even bigger fine from the comments. why did he not just say sorry and stop there. also could the 2 players have not agreed to play an exabition or something like that to keep the crowd happy

Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens FinalTo be frank, you don't need an agent to tell you that. It is common sense and manners.(Original post by TenOfThem)
Surely he has an agent ... why was that person not there saying "just say sorry to the linesman, the crowd, and Cilic" -

Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens FinalLet's see how you would've reacted, if it were you in the same incident.(Original post by Marlo Stanfield)
Linesman made a meal out of it. Was acting like Nalbandian had shanked him.

Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens Final
What were his comments after? I'm trying to sympathise with him, in the heat of the moment it's easy to do something stupid. I Don't think he should have been dq'd though... Having said that, I would expect him to have to pay a hefty fine, and make a nice gesture to official.

Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens FinalI was watching and thought it was disgusting. Yeah, we've all done stupid things because we were mad but I've never injured another person. How could he not see the person sat behind the board? He should have gone back to flinging his racket about or did what Djokovic did at the French and damaged a bench that didn't have a person near it!
And he totally made it worse for himself with that interview.
The crowd were also acting like children. I understand they've paid for their tickets and they wanted to watch tennis but if they wanted to boo they should have been booing Nalbandian, not the guys who are enforcing the rules. And continuing to boo over the guy as he was trying to tell them what was happening made me think they had a collective mental age of about 5!
Hope the line judge is okay though; it looked pretty bad but then he managed to (just about) walk off so I assume he's not too badly injured.
Edit: People negging me, can I ask you to quote me and say why you disagree please?Last edited by minimarshmallow; 17-06-2012 at 23:37. -
Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens FinalYou would think so ... but clearly not in this case(Original post by f1mad)

Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens FinalObviously, he would've broke the code of conduct. You don't make special exemptions no matter who you are, that behaviour shouldn't (and isn't) tolerated.(Original post by tomclarky)
If Andy Murray had done that in the Wimbledon final, would he have been disqualified? -
Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens FinalI think if that happened then they'd be forced to change the rules after the tournament. The line judge was fine, it only looked bad because he left it to bleed for ages.(Original post by f1mad)

I think the match should have played on but with Nalbadian receiving a retrospective fine afterwards.

Re: David Nalbandian angrily kicks Linesman in Queens FinalThe extent of the injury, is not the sticking point:(Original post by Hopple)
