Hi! I've firmed UCL for BSc Anthropology starting on September 24th 2012, who's with me?

YES!!! Finally someone who has good taste in course AND university have you chosen accommodation yet? I still can't quite believe I'll be at uni in a couple of months...if I get the grades!

I applied for accommodation 5 weeks ago or something like that but I didn't get to choose it, I just selected the most important factor(and I forgot what it was so I think it means I didn't really care...). My offer is conditional too and I'll get my exam results on July 8th...+didn't think somebody would reply! I was already picturing myself in an empty classroom =)

I constantly wondered if anyone IN THE WORLD actually applied for Anthropology, but here we all are naw ..well all exams finished que sera sera, how about you guys? What do you all study? (I've pondered about the "diversity" which every single anthropology department prides itself on..)

Hey I don't know why we get our results in the same day but I think it's a mere coincidence. I study(studied...) Mathematics, Computer Science and German as I chose a Mathematics-Computer Science with German class(just for Mathematics and German really) . And also Chemistry and Human Biology on a basic level. If you have a Facebook account search for UCL Freshers of 2012 or UCL Freshers 2012-2013, 2 different pages-groups, actually. I've found two girls who have firmed UCL for BSc Anthropology with a year abroad...but I think the first two years are identical so if we all manage to get the required grades we may be in the same group.

Sorry I missed out a comma after "also", frustratingly I have to wait until the..16th(?) of August :/ WOW that's pretty different, (it's weird to finally say "studied"!) I studied A-level Biology, Psychology and Drama And Theatre Studies..I wouldn't be able to handle maths haha big respect to you :') ooh I frantically searched for about half an hour but I found them!! I want to put "ANTHRO BICHEZ" but I also want to make friends, so just weighing it up haha at least we know we've got a great teacher:student ratio

The funny thing is that only one group, UCL Freshers of 2012, has that document...and I thought I should be nice and upload it to the other group, UCL Freshers 2012-2013, as it has more members...but someone changed the alphabetical order&everything, made fun etc. ...

I was wondering about a reading list as well...I don't want to turn up and find out I was meant to have read a dozen books, that wouldn't be a good start!

Hello,
I too am going to UCL in a fortnight to do Bsc Anth (with a year abroad).
I'm a bit disappointed there's no reading list. I want to get stuck in!
I just got an email from Helen Cooper too where she talks about an Anthropology Freshers page on Facebook, but I couldn't find it - not sure it exists.
UCL freshers page itself doesn't really say what's going on in the first week.
Anyone staying in Schafer House by the way??

No sorry I'm in Nutford House (apparently 40mins walk from the anthropology department argh) I got the email from Helen too, but I also received a welcome handbook from UCL in the post today..all in all, VERY EXCITED to move-in in just over 2 weeks where's everyone from? Also I hope no one has been given a reading list, I haven't, and am getting slightly worried about whether I can trust myself to take "book money" down and NOT spend it in freshers...
