    Bulk or Cut first?
Hey guys, im unsure which route to take as of now, i am currently

    5'9
    67kg
the 'extremities' of the latest bodyfat tests range from 18-22%

i was thinking cut for the whole of july, try lose 8-10 lbs of fat, then bulk? this should in theory leave me around the 13-14% bodyfat

Currently you can see quite alot of fatty deposits by my pecs, stomach and derriere, which is why im questioning which to do first

thanks in advance for your opinion guys

    Eat more and better.

Get your squat up to 140kg your bench up to 100kg and your deadlift up to 180kg 5x5.

Guarantee you'll be leaner and bigger.

whilst thats the dream, eating more and better really isnt that specific, my lifts are

    60kg bench
    70kg dead
    85ish squat

i think lifting that much is obvious i'll be leaner and bigger, was ideally looking for an answer that would help short term

i should add, i dont really look the best in shape as of now, and adding on even more fat isnt going to help my self esteem, so shall i cut so i can bulk to my current stage (which im not satisfied with) or bulk now and add fat and keep a low self esteem?

theres no point in cutting first, bulk for 6-9 months then cut to next summer.
for bulk eat anything and everything (except fast food) and really up your calorie and protein intake, add in another meal a day.
work 5 times a week on all parts of your body.
follow what old school said about bench, squat and deadlift.
but also make sure you can do 5x3 (or more) wide pullups.
finally work your core hard, balance is a nescessity for lifting high weights (work your obliques as well as abs)

    Body recomp.

Just train hard and adjust your food on a weekly basis.

It's the easiest way to live life.

OP. Get yourself on a proper program, like Starting Strength or Strong Lifts. Follow the recommended workout schedule (in terms of days off, which lifts on which days etc) and add in the assistance work that the programs suggest when you feel you can manage it.

In terms of a bulk diet, it's a simple concept: pack in more calories. If you're concerned about aesthetics, go on as clean a bulk as possible, sticking to healthy sources of complex carbs and avoiding processed and junk food. Add in full fat milk for easy extra calories as well as high calorie - yet healthy - snacks such as peanut butter and nuts. Try and fit in about five meals at regular intervals. Add olive oil to meals for easy extra calories.

Also, never refer to your arse as a 'derriere' again.

You made me laugh at a time when I have run out of reps, sigh.

My advice would be to go on a serious cut. Get rid of that body fat. Don't worry about muscle development. Just get nice and trim, then you can do the standard get a bit fatter and gain muscle from a trim base.

You are probably squatting high - very rare to find raw squats that are larger than deadlifts, especially in begginers.

Bulk first, keep bulking for a good year or so and you will be in much better shape.
