How To Calm Down When Angry + Drunk???I got into a bit of a problem on friday night. It was a house party in one of my friend's and someone nicked my booze. Of course I'd had had some before hand but a whole bottle of rum was gone and naturally I wasn't very happy.
But usually, even if someone's drink gets stolen, you'd expect someone not to fly off the handle. I've had booze stolen before but I guess this was just an off day and things and people were getting to me. When I got mad I punched a hole in one of the walls of the guy's house and they understandably got mad at me which only made me more angry at the whole situation.
Simply, I made an absolute jackass out of myself for being such a dickhead. I shouldn't have reacted in such a manner and shouldn't have then tried to argue with the host who was in the right.
To cut things short out of the background story, how do you calm down when you are drunk and angry??? I don't usually get angry when I get drunk but if I do I can be pretty aggressive. Have you been in a similar scenario and if so what did you do/how did you calm down????? -

It's not the best idea, but sometimes you might have to get someone else to help you. Of course, there's downsides to this (e.g. if they're not nearby, you might not think of getting them, you don't want someone spending the night essentially caring for you) but sometimes it can help.
I wouldn't mind reading this topic more though for ideas, especially for calming others down xD -
Re: How To Calm Down When Angry + Drunk???Well anger + alcohol is a formula for disaster so either sort your anger out or don't drink. It isn't difficult.(Original post by Kiss)
Well that would be an obvious solution but this thread is about when you are drunk and getting pissed off -
Re: How To Calm Down When Angry + Drunk???
well in my experience people act differently when drunk
some are happy and some are angry, if you know alcohol makes you aggressive then maybe don't drink a lot at once, if I were you I would just stagger my pre drinks and drinking a bit longer, that way you're still standing at the end of the night not passed out drunk, and you haven't made a tool of yourself getting aggressive. -

Re: How To Calm Down When Angry + Drunk???Although it's not exactly the same I'd say it is pretty similar, once I was in a club and one flatmate (who was also drunk) kept standing on my feet (accidentally, she was stumbling around because she was drunk also) and in the end I just pushed her and she fell over. I then left and went outside to the smokers area for 5 minutes. The fresh air hit me and calmed me down and then I went back in. Later on that same night a different flatmate started basically throwing herself at the guy I liked (and I'd told her I liked him so she didn't have the excuse of not knowing) and that time I just went home so I didn't end up smacking her.(Original post by Kiss)

Removing yourself from the situation and returning when you've calmed down or just going home are usually my ways of dealing with it. Now, I don't have more than 3 drinks because 4 is when I start to get angry at the littlest things, and I don't wanna pay to get in a club and then end up going home early.
