My 4 year old PC which I have upgraded along the way, well only the graphics and cooling everything is what I originally built

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - 2.4GHz
CPU Cooler: Custom water cooled loop
    Motherboard: Asus P5KC
    Ram: Corsair 2 x 2GB DDR2
    GPU(Graphics card): XFX 5870 1GB (Was originally nVidia 9600GT)
    PSU(Power Supply): Coolmaster 650 Watt
    HDD(Hard drive): Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB, Western Digital 500GB
    Optical Drive: Sony DVD
    Case: Inwin F430
Case fans: 2 x 120mm fans on the radiator
OS(Operating System): Windows 7, Vista, XP

Monitor: Samsung 19", I-INC 19" set up in eyefinity (wish I had a third screen)
Other than your monitor and cooling your original PC was my ideal pc when i first learnt how to build computers :P Sadly i was short of cash and wanted play games so all i could do was to bump the GPU up to a HD 4770 (between 9800 Gt and 250 Gt in performance).

I had that card, I burnt it up loooool it honesty had overheating issues.
Mine was fine with that, the problem for me was the the VGA port kept on coming undone. Every 3 or 4 weeks i'd have to remove it and screw it in again.... got it was a piece of ****....

I don't know honestly the screws holding it in place we loose and just got looser until it came off, poorly designed and poorly made. They were able to get complacent as ATI were even worse at the time of the takeover. Competition is really needed.

I know, ATI and Nvidia just being the 2 major competing firms in the market, is just not fair, the prices are ridiculous sometimes.

Desktop: Intel Core 2 Quad Core @ 2.40ghz
    3gb RAM
    Nvidia 1gb GTS250 OC (BFG)
    32-bit Vista :L

    Laptop: Intel I3
    Nvidia GT525M
    4gb RAM
    64 bit windows 7

Desktop can run most things, and Crysis warhead at Gamer with no AA quite smoothly. If the game isn't that demanding (Left 4 dead 2 etc) it'll run it 40+ fps on full

Laptop plays everything well bar Crysis and Arma 2

    Main Rig
    CPU: AMD X6 1090T Light OC @ 3.72ghz
CPU Cooler: Corsair H50 With 2x Akasa Viper Fans
Mobo: Asus Crosshair Formula IV - Republic of Gamers Edition
    RAM: Kingston Hyper X 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
    GPU: 2xASUS 6850 Crossfire OC'ed
    HDD's:3X1TB, 2x2TB HDD + 500GB HDD
    Optical Drive: Samsung Bluray drive
PSU: Coolermaster Silent Pro 700W PSU
    Case: Cooler Master Scout Case
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit
Monitors: 3x Samsung 2333HD in Eyefinity
    Mouse / Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder X6 + X8

Built in late 2010, with a few upgrades works like a charm just need to get a SSD and some more drives when the price goes down.

    Laptop:
    HP G6 something
    CPU: AMD A8 3500 APU
    RAM 6GB Samsung 122mhz
GPU: AMD 6620G Discrete Graphic (1GB RAM allocated)
    HDD: 1TB Seagate 5400RPM

AMD APU is pretty awesome for light gaming compared to a i3 with built in graphics. Battlefield 3 on Low - Medium runs really well. Especially for sub £350

Storage for my Films / TV Shows / Music and Backups. For now my 2x 6850 is overclocked to 2x 6870 performance. Dont see the point of adding another for 3 way crossfire, i get constant high frame rates on single monitor and decent frame rates with eyefinity. Maybe when more intensive games come out il consider it.
