Re: Electonics Products GCSE AQA 21st June 2012possibly the worst subject in the world... but i don't want to fail it.(Original post by CJG21)
Is anyone actually really bothered about this one? -
Re: Electonics Products GCSE AQA 21st June 2012I think I did quite well in the controlled assessment but I haven't been taught any of the syllabus, so I feel a D would be a great result.(Original post by mrdw)

Re: Electonics Products GCSE AQA 21st June 2012I only picked it because it was either this, food tech, graphics or art that I had to pick for a technology choice.(Original post by mrdw)

Re: Electonics Products GCSE AQA 21st June 2012
Remember that the grade boundaries are going to be low because it really is such a difficult exam, and it seems that nobody actually gets taught the syllabus. I have the Lonsdale revision guide, too, and it seems to match up pretty well with the specification.
It'll be interesting to see whether they're making more of a move towards the products part of the course, because there was a bit of protest at how it was more like straight electronics in the past few years (to clarify, just electronics is considered a science).Last edited by CookieInOrange; 19-06-2012 at 14:30. -
Re: Electonics Products GCSE AQA 21st June 2012By 'products' do you mean plastics and wood and drawing and stuff? Cause I know none of that. (Apart from duralumin. I like duralumin).(Original post by CookieInOrange)

Re: Electonics Products GCSE AQA 21st June 2012I mean the design question that's worth quite a few marks, which should include drawing and plastics and stuff as well as the circuit, but recently the mark scheme has put more of an emphasis on the circuit and flowchart or whatever. One paper I did didn't even mention the casing :/. To be sure of top marks on that you should know plastic names/types and be able to draw a clear, 3D model. You don't have to colour it in, tho, as some people I know did in the mocks -.-(Original post by CJG21)

Re: Electonics Products GCSE AQA 21st June 2012Ay, I have that guide but to be I honestly dont think its that amazing. Its good but I think its too good, it explains everything in such details when in reality a lot of questions just ask stupid things like the advantages and you spend so much time learning how things work you cant even answer that! Its such a big spec, doubt anyone in my school will get an A(Original post by CookieInOrange)
