So im leaving social class out for G674 Tommorow
Im deciding to completely leave social class out and place more emphasis on age, class and gender...do you guys think this is a sensible idea?
I asked my teacher today and she said she wouldnt recommend me doing that as OCR are being wierd with their questions, Imagine if they put questions like
Gender - (Outline and asses the view that men are disadvantaged in contemporary UK)
Age - (Outline and asses the view that young people are disadvantaged...)
Ethnicity -(Outline and asses the view that ethnic minorities have are more advantaged then the major ethnic group or something lol)
What are the chances of OCR asking a hard question like those? I know the gender one is quite possible....and do you think social class is worth leaving out?
thank you for ur help! -
Re: So im leaving social class out for G674 Tommorowfirst of all, there the 20 marks, i think you should base what your going to answer on the 40 marks and also, ethnicity and class already came up in january.. they've never put ethnicity and class back to back as they'll be criticised for not covering the syllabus... my teacher only taught us gender and age(Original post by Nicknack26)

Re: So im leaving social class out for G674 Tommorow
I'm not giving too much focus on social class as I would avoid a set of questions on it as it's a much bigger topic, with the different classes and the changing structure etc. But I am making notes on the essay plans and things in case an 'interrelationships' question comes up where you'd have to mention some theories on social class, eg 'outline and asses functionalist explanations of social inequality' which came up in jan 10, you'd have to write about the functionalist theory on all 4 topics here.

But in the June 2011 paper Age & Gender came up? Why would ocr put age and gender on again?
confused... I think you should cover everything because i went through ALL the previous papers and all of the topics have come up twice, age gender ethnicity and class.... so really anything could come up tomorrow...
What are your thoughts?

Re: So im leaving social class out for G674 Tommorowyes but in january 2012 ethnicity and class come up, therefore age or gender must come up.. that's the way it's happened all the way through..xx(Original post by xoxSami)
