Re: How much are bills per month? Please help! It's high I would say, unless they are including council tax which if you're both students you would be exempt from. Bills I would say for the flat are probably something of the order of £50-£75 for electricity + gas and £10-20 for water. Internet is probably about £20-30, then if it had a tv license that's probably £15 a month and then contents insurance would be £15. Now, you don't need all of that, but even with all of that it only comes to £155 a month between you.(Original post by lil sister)
I can get a 1 bed flat for £720/month with bills or £545/month without bills. This is in Manchester. So basically they're charing £175/month for bills. Surely that is very high? There will be two of us in the flat.
Which would be cheaper?
Thank you -
Re: How much are bills per month? Please help!Ok thank you for the help. I doubt we will do insurance/TV licence so it'll probably work out around £50 less a month. Do you think that's worth having to do your bills separately? I mean it's £25 each less a month but we'll have to do meter readings, set up direct debits, always have to think about electricity/gas usage. Whereas for £25 more each we can just use as much as we want and leave it to them to sort it all out.(Original post by F1 fanatic)

Not sure what to do... what would you do?

Re: How much are bills per month? Please help!I would first check what the £175 a month they're offering covers. If it includes council tax then it's not good value for money, and if it's only covering electricity, gas and water then I really think you're better off doing it yourself. Part of being a student is saving wherever possible and on the face of it £175 a month not to have to set up your own direct debits etc. seems a bit of an extravagence unless finance isn't a concern to you.(Original post by lil sister)
