Again, if you have no other argument than to tell me its different languages I suggest you be quiet because I am aware of that.(Original post by AmyJ)
Then why were you making out as though there was some special reason that they say Allahu Akbar rather than anything else? It's pretty obvious why they don't use other names - it would be stupid to use the Hebrew one, and shirk to use the other. It sounds like you had a bad experience in the Middle East but you shouldn't let it tarnish your view of all Muslims - and Muslims shouldn't "hate" anything about Christians really, other than thinking you are misguided (which I assume is mutual - somehow I can't imagine you going to mosque for lolz
).
I really don't know what you're trying to prove with the constant Islam-bashing. You must be well aware that Arabic Christians call God 'Allah', it doesn't make them Muslims. Why...because it's the same God!
If you do not know what Islam is, again shut up.
Dont jump to their defense when you have absolutely no idea what they believe. I can tell just by your posts how limited your knowledge of real Islam is. All you keep going on about is the language thing...as if its some amazing, novel argument.

Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?
Well, if Judaism came first, and Christianity built on their religion, and Islam built on both religions, then I can't see how they would have different Gods. Yes, they may attempt to define and worship Him in different ways because they think the other religions are, in some way, wrong about Him, but it's just differences in opinion of the same God.

Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?Absolutle nonsense.(Original post by Jessica no)
I think they all believe in the same G-d but all of them called Him a different name -
Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?Exactly. They don't believe in the same God.(Original post by kbilly)
Absolutle nonsense.
Most of the illiterates on this thread cannot seem to understand that! (Funny thing is, the ones who don't get it are muslims). -
Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?
Would a jew or christian accept a god that orders its followers to fight to kill christians and jews and humiliate them? I think they would agree that the god who says to do that is satanic.
"Fight/kill those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah they are subservient/humiliated " 9:29 ahmed ali. -
Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?I don't need an 'argument' because your initial point was so stupid - Muslims don't recognise God the Father because they use a different name? Lol! I know perfectly well what Islam is and what they believe. Every Islam-related post you make is going on about Sharia and Wahabis and every bit of distasteful Scripture you can drum up, in an effort to create some sort of virtual pissing-contest and prove Christianity's superiority. All it serves to do is make you look like a man with a grudge, who is insecure in his own faith and has to resort to attacking others. The world is not divided into GOOD Christians and EVIL Muslims and only an absolute idiot would endorse that kind of comparison.(Original post by .eXe)

Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?Isn't that kind of contradicting yourself, by saying "Mohammad's God," you're implying that another God exists as a rival to the Christian God, which basically is polytheism, and isn't Christianity a monotheistic religion. Anyway, I believe there is only one God and any religion that calls upon a God, at the end of the day, there is only the one God listening. So I don't get this idea of Christian God/Muslim God. Surely, it's the way that God is represented in different religions and the different ways people worship God that is different, not God himself.(Original post by .eXe)
No I am a Christian and dont worship the same God as muslims.
Id rather be an atheist than worship mohammads god

Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?if you believe the god of the new testament is the same as the god of the old testament, I don't see how "your" god is any better than that of the quaran. if anything Islam is more consistent with its Abrahamic roots than Christianity is(Original post by .eXe)

Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?
The fundamental/core concept of the God is completely the same in both religions.
All three religions share the main concepts and ideas of the Old Testament and the God mentioned in the Old Testament in common. Most religious leaders of all three religions agree unanimously on this.
The features and will of the God thereafter in regard to having a son, or the prophets and subsequent books and scripts that are truly referring to the will of God are the subject of debate, as well as some varying features of God that arise from these differences.Last edited by planetearth; 22-06-2012 at 20:39. -
Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?
Well if it is the same God, somebody's worshipping Him wrongly.
If a religious person says all three can't worship the same God because of the different forms of worship, then they also say that the other two's Gods don't exist. They are, therefore, due to all being monotheistic, in danger of divine arrogance; they must give reasons for why their particular worship is more authentic, more true, than the other two. -
Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?Islam is also fundamentally based on the Old Testament, which Muhammad makes clear.(Original post by .eXe)
I believe Allah isn't a real God but rather a creation of Mohammad.
The God that Muhammad is reffering to is the one you believe in, otherwise you wouldn't be a Christian.
But the will and some features and actions of that God are what you believe to be different to what Muhammad preached.
That is what distinguishes Christianity and Islam and Judiasm, not the God himself. -
Re: Do Christians/Muslims/Jews believe in the same God?I agree with you on the first part, but religions being similar isn't a valid argument for them believing in the same God.(Original post by Maxima)
I swear down the sole reason you are on TSR is to find any Islam-related thread, albeit in the smallest way possible, so you can quickly turn it into a thread where you tell everyone how much you hate Islam and how it is so wrong.
Care to explain how Islam rejects this? Islam simply believes no-one should be associated with "God". Therefore he cannot be known as "Father" as he has no children, nor is anyone associated with him.
I do think all of these religions believe in the same God because are just too many similarities in all 3 religions for them to be believing in a different God.
