    Advice needed: NAO or Tesco?
Background: 25 years old, finished undergrad chemistry degree at warwick in 2010 2.1, finished my postgraduate analytical science degree in sept 2011, Distinction.

Got offered an analytical job working for Tesco evaluating floor space, 23k a year, in Hertford. Standard 9-5, not sure about prospects.

The other job is working with the National Audit Office, 27k a year, probably better prospects.

The problem is I feel like im getting old now...bit tired of working hard I feel like I want to enjoy life more, go out more, have more relationships, start a family, I feel this might be difficult while having to study for ACA exams, the impression I have is that I won't have any life at all. I feel like I may enjoy my life more working at Tesco, but the salary and prospects seem very different.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

I actually think you'd get all the things you want more by taking the NAO position, as you won't have the demands of a private company shouting down your neck seeking a profit. I think you will quickly find the Tesco position to be very boring anyway, 25 isn't old..

Can't comment on the NAO but your prospects at Tesco are good. I know someone with a similar academic profile, but 20 years further on in their career with regular promotions and salary increases during that time, on about 70k plus bonuses now, I think.

Tesco is one of the more/most prestigious companies in the retail sector and is a very good one to have on your CV. Certainly, the person I know is regularly contacted by head hunters and could easily walk in to very many other retail/food businesses.
