Best Action Films?
Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

Best Action Films?
I've recently watched some action films released in the 1980s - early 1990s and have decided that I NEED TO SEE MORE!!
Some of the films I've watched are:
- Die Hard
- Tango and Cash
- Escape from New York
- Con Air
(I've also seen Alien, which I loved, but thought it was a bit more sci-fi than action!)
Can anyone suggest any more films?

How on earth has nobody mentioned Terminator 1 and 2? Part 2 is probably the best sci-fi action movie ever made. I've seen it quite literally close to one hundred times.
Not action but the Rocky series is worth a watch, especially the first four. Rambo is good too.
I'd also thrown in Police Story. It's awesome and Jackie Chan in his prime was something.
Bloodsport -- Van Damme's best. This is pure 80's awesomeness.Last edited by silent ninja; 19-06-2012 at 12:17. -

Re: Best Action Films? Why does it matter though? It's an amazing action film... And it's actually well-made as well....(Original post by silent ninja)
Maybe you didn't read the opening post? -
Re: Best Action Films?
Die Hard 1-3
In The Line Of Fire
The Matrix (if by any chance you haven't seen it)
Pulp Fiction
From Dusk Till Dawn
Twister
Under Siege (and anything with Steven Seagal, especially Under Siege 2, Out For Justice, Nico, Exit Wounds and Marked For Death)
The Town
The Shooter
Four Brothers
Minority Report
Blade 1-2
Patriot Games
Taken
Not all of them are from the 80s and the 90s but they're all good. If you like action movies, just watch any action movie made in the 80s and early-mid 90s. They were cheesy and even if bad, they were simple and enjoyable as hell.Last edited by RabbitCFH; 20-06-2012 at 23:20.
