Discussion for GCSE students, including those studying for IGCSEs and O Levels.

Re: Can you retake a single GCSE module in year 12You have to re-sit at least 40% of a GCSE in order to get a new grade. (The exceptions to this are the outgoing Science specifications where you can re-sit as little as you want.)(Original post by dreams150)
In regards to GCSE I was wondering if you could retake a single module in year 12 (sixth form) after the two year GCSE period, or would you have to retake the entire GCSE to get the grade?
Any answers would be appreciated

Re: Can you retake a single GCSE module in year 12We were told that you have to resit at least 50%, and in some cases that included coursework.(Original post by Data)

Re: Can you retake a single GCSE module in year 12It is 40% (http://www.jcq.org.uk/attachments/pu...02011%2012.pdf) but it doesn't matter whether that is an exam, controlled assessment, or a mixture of the two.(Original post by Procrastination)
