Re: A Clone's Family TreeBut can't a clone I don't wind up raising come to think of me the same way one thinks of a parent who abandoned his child?(Original post by stillgotlegs)
Identical twins are thought of as siblings, so I'd be inclined to call the clone your brother.
But then if you were the one raising the clone, you would be in a parental position, so... your son? Depends whether you raise them or not. -
Re: A Clone's Family TreeI just think that would be considered Awesome...(Original post by viriol)
Say I clone myself in the future. Should the clone (who is biologically just the same as I was when I was born) be considered my sibling or my son? -
Re: A Clone's Family TreeYeah, it's interesting. Probably more like a parent them, seeing as you created them. There's some element of neglected responsibility there which wouldn't be true of a sibling.(Original post by viriol)

Would you be creating the clone, or just donating your genetic material to an evil mastermind? -
Re: A Clone's Family TreeHaven't decided. Do warn me if you know of a willing evil mastermind, though (willing to pay, of course)!(Original post by stillgotlegs)

Re: A Clone's Family TreeNo, it would just have the same type of body. Biologically speaking, he would be the same as a twin of mine who had stopped in time. That's a long stretch to say he is the same as me.(Original post by justanotherposter)
The clone would essentially be you, so he would logically have the same space on the family tree as you.
However if cloning ever becomes popular it's likely people would give clones their own spot on the tree to make them feel welcome.Last edited by viriol; 21-06-2012 at 23:01.
