"Safe" as in "probably won't die" yes, but that doesn't mean they're the healthiest way. Plus if you're already a size 8 chances are you don't need to do anything as drastic. Eat a healthy balanced diet, and do plenty of exercise.

Yes, but in your 20's that doesn't matter so much, as people are very robust.

How do you know she's in her 20s? I was just pointing out that the healthiest way is always balance. Slim Fast is a fad, but it would have the desired effect as long as the diet was followed properly.

No, they're ****. If you want to lose weight efficiently, you have to do exercise, STILL EAT MEALS (but keep them healthy) and cut down on the junk. Also, drink LOTS of water.

They're just a quick fix and don't sound exactly filling.

You really ought to change your lifestyle permanently rather than going on a temporary diet.

Your body will go into starvation mode and store every calorie so when you start eating normally again you will put on weight again really quickly. It's much better and much more useful in the long term to lose weight through exercise and a healthy, balanced diet, like WeightWatchers.

    Ridiculous.

How about; you move more and eat healthier, it really is that simple and requires simple willpower and some time.
As soon as you stop drinking the shakes you'll gain the weight again.

How tall are you? Size 8/10 is perfectly healthy, but wanting to go to a size 6- what are your reasons for this?

8/10 if fine. don't go turning into one of those girls who obsessively lose weight until you can see the out line of their instestines through their skin.
I have a really skinny friend and thats natural because of high metabolism- she is healthy and carries it off well. if it isn't your natural shape based on a healthy lifestyle then you'll look like a corpse.
Go see a doctor for advice.
But if you must lose weight at least eat real food insted of nutritionally starving yourself, you could try 2 days carbs 1 day protein - that works.

The shakes are safe if used as advertised... It's just a low calorie drink
It's alli that makes red oil squirt out of your bum.
Tbh what's wrong with size 8 though? You should probably just relax and eat salad an extra day per week.

Not safe in my opinion. If you want to get slim, you have to work for it.

Maybe safe enough short-term but long-term use no. These types of diets are ineffective anyway. Once you return to your normal routine you'll be at risk of gaining the weight again (and more) if you don't start eating healthier and exercising anyway.
