    Flexible sigmoidoscopy
    Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced the following procedure "flexible sigmoidoscopy" (as I have my appointment, next week and I'd like to be prepared)... and I'd like to know what actually happens, why it is being carried out, how it feels, etc.

    Thank you

    Hi NishaaaR,
I've had both a colonoscopy and a sigmoidoscopy, and the sigmoidoscopy was a million times better, I guess because it doesn't go in as far. I didn't need any sedation, and the whole thing felt like it lasted about thirty seconds. As far as medical procedures go, it was a piece of cake!
