I think this is in the wrong section
I can't quite remember as I was 11 at the time, I think it did take quite a long time though. But don't worry it will happen when it happens!
Good luck for your treatment, it will be so worth it

I had braces a few years back & I think I was waiting a couple of months between my first appointment & getting them fitted.

I think I waited 2 months before the orthodontist got in touch with me then another 6 weeks after I got my impressions taken before I actually got the brace fitted.
I recommend you call up the dentist!

    Re: braces
Wearing braces post-18 really isn't an issue, no one notices (including you) and you have to think of whether you're happy to spend time getting perfect teeth or whether you're happy with how they are now. It is your choice, but so many people have braces at different ages now that it's just not an issue.

    Re: braces
It took me a week between getting referred by my dentist and getting the braces on, but that's because I was about to turn 18 so they rushed it so I could get it done on the NHS! It's not that bad having them, I'd obviously rather have them off before uni but I guess it will be worth it for the end result! The worst thing is having bands though

I'm nearly 23 and have been wearing braces for almost 2 years now, by the time they come off I'll be almost 24 so I wouldn;t worry about the age thing

Took me a few months to get the initial appointment, then almost a year between that and actually getting the braces on. I did change hospitals though so that may be why.
