Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?You do know that 2p in a puddle is worth the same as 2p on a gold plated persian rug...?(Original post by inamuckingfuddle)
Hmm... I probably would, except if it was in mud or a puddle or something in which case I'd pass unless it was more :P. -
Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?No it's not. You have to take away from it's value the unpleasantness of getting at it.(Original post by Fusion)

Don't give money to the homeless give them food or drink or even fags
I had a saga with a bum once...
him: "hey mate, can I have a quid for a bag of chips?"
me: "here i'll go buy you a bag"
him: "piss off"
me: "don't you want a bag of chips mate?"
him: "no thanks mate"

Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?
Well, I once saw a shiny 5p coin on the floor. It was so tempting to pick it up. After debating in my mind whether to pick it up or not, I finally decided I just couldn't resist. I ran over the road to pick it up and in the madness I forgot about everything else and got run over by a truck.

Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?Wow, that was bit risky, all tht just for a 5p??(Original post by Shafski)

Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?Do they have a limit on how many 2ps it'll take to buy something?(Original post by de_monies)
How about you work out the exact cost of something or a few things at your supermarket, and go through the self checkout things and put them in there?
I tried using 5ps and slightly bigger change to top up my Oyster card and it got annoyed with me and spat it all out.
I should really deposit it in the bank but I have like 20-30 quid in 1ps, 2ps and 5ps and it's pretty heavy going! -
Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?A £50 note?(Original post by llessur123)
.
I' ve only ever seen one once and it was handed to me by a guy at a trade show I was working. I think you have to go to a bank to get one.

Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?Okay. Every penny in my bank account increases it.(Original post by mc1000)
No it doesn't.
Better? -
Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?AFAIK, the self checkout machines don't have a limit. Also, it's not like you have to use them all at once. I mean say you need some milk, which is 2 for £2 at Asda. Well then just take 100 2p coins or if you need one, then take 58 2p coins and get 1p change(Original post by I<3LAMP)

Re: If you find 2p on the floor would you pick it up?This holds exactly the same logic as the sea analogy... again, it is not entirely true. That is, if your expenditure over a given period of time exceeds the amount gained from the number of pennies you pick up off the floor over this time period, which I'd imagine it does. Any other income is irrelevant for the purposes of the argument - in much the same way that sea level rise as a result of outwash from ice sheets and glaciers into the sea is irrelevant when talking about precipitation.
