OCR Classical Greek History Language B402
I didn't think that this paper was too bad...

I couldn't see a thread yet so I thought that I would make one...

Does anyone have any ideas for an unofficial mark scheme...

I will try and think one up...

translation was along the lines of : 'then a certain general of the Athenians, named thyciadides, sailed in order to help those guarding the city, and when Brasiadas learnt this, with the great fleet of the enemy approaching, he ordered those with him not to retreat but to attack very strongly using swords and shields, for he still hoped to capture Anphropolis. However Brasiadas was afraid of the Athenians to such an extent that he wanted to try another means, therefore he sent a messenger to the citizens who said these things 'O men, if you are willing to hand over Anphropolis and you yourselves to us and become allies of the spartans, it will be allowed for you to remain in the city safely. And promising these things Brasiadas persuaded the citizens, and in this way captured Anphropolis. But Thyciadides arrived too late and after this, the assembly of the Athenians decided to punish him on the grounds that he was responsible. For if the Athenains had arrived before, this disaster would not have happened.'
This is very rough and done of the top of my head and form what i can remember of the exam! Hope it helps

I agree with nearly all of this...

Just "he wanted to try another means" was there not an alone in there somwhere...

And "it will be allowed for you to remain in the city safely" was it not you shall be allowed...?

I thought this paper went well. There were no really unrecognisable aorists or any irregular comparatives or superlatives (I spent ages revising them the night before!), which was a bonus! So I was pleasantly surprised.

I hope everyone else feels the same!
