Facebook
I recently deleted facebook to concentrate on exams, and now I don't have it I'm thinking about not getting it back. I have twitter/skype/email but I heard that unis often publicise a lot of events on facebook, would I be missing out if I didn't have it?
Oh and when I do have it, I spend way too much time on it, doing nothing so that would just happen if I got it again!
Thoughts? -
Re: FacebookYeah is worth having at Uni, even if you don't use it actively, it's useful for staying in touch with people back home and for communicating whilst at Uni.(Original post by watermelonwishes)

Re: Facebook
I hardly use Facebook anymore, its just boring for me i will go on to it check the news feed then logout.
Yes i do reccomend having it for uni as you will be doing group work and a lot of people do have facebook and create groups where you can all discuss work etc. Uni fan pages also list events, so yes do keep it for uni. -

Re: Facebook
Yeah, when I was at uni we even had to post weekly assignments on to a fb group cos the tutor was trying to be innovative or something. He was a bit of a try-hard. It's also how a lot of social events are advertised and organised so it's worth having. After a while of not using it every day though, you start seeing all the crap people post for the bull**** it really is, and the appeal goes away anyhow.

Re: FacebookWell see I try to be, but then I get distracted on here! I can't win!(Original post by Jessica no)

Ok.. yeah I think I might leave it until I get to uni and then see how much I really do need it!(Original post by Chicken Hulk)

I know! Privacy is so overrated on facebook :l I set my settings on my timeline so that when someone tagged me it didn't automatically go on my time, it was all annoying me! I hope we don't need it desperately(Original post by Agenda Suicide)
I have the same issue. I have no interest in it but am merely keeping it because people say to for uni. It's a shame really because I hate having people tag me in photos and everybody know exactly what I'm up to. I like my privacy, haha.
Ah dear, well hopefully none of mine will be try-hards! Oh I know, that's what was partly annoying me, but hopefully after a while of not having it I just won't be so bothered about it. I've been flicking through my mums account to see what is going on with family - that's what I'll miss, all the cute pictures. But they can survive without all the crazy pictures of me going out I think!(Original post by willbee)

I don't do all those things though.. I'm just too nosy! And look at other people, I do post some stuff and keep up with friends but I just spend too long, doing nothing like I said! I might try, but I think like someone else said I'll spend ages off and it will lose its appeal(Original post by shorty.loves.angels)
Can't you just use for it the reasons you want to? You don't have to compile albums of photos, play all the games, read all the spam articles and update your status every time you put the kettle on.

Twitter is dead now too tbh, well as a social networking tool anyway... It's ok for news and following people of interest.
Why do you think that? -
