YES PLEASE DON'T CHOOSE TEXTILES. Seriously, you have to do endless amounts of meaningless coursework even for a crappy grade. Just don't.

Aside from that, revise regularly. People stay start revising in like, January, but even though that will help a lot starting in May is fine too.

That GCSEs seem big and scary and hard at the time, and yes they are big and scary and hard at the time.

But you get halfway through A levels before you realise you got a whole lot of bigger, scarier and harder things to spend your worry on, and they just get bigger and scarier and harder as you get older.

Then you realise GCSEs are relatively small, kind and easy. (and no, it is not the end of the world getting a few Bs and Cs, and even failing one or two. Life goes on as normal. Trust me )

History revision, especially on unit 2 is stressful.

You don't need to be well-read to do well in English Literature - you just need to read Sparknotes

DO NOT ATTEMPT GCSE DRAMA. It is the folly of GCSEs.

    1) If you want a decent grade it is impossible to revise GCSE History in one day. At least I learnt this during the mocks.

    2) Once you get to sixth form GCSEs mean almost nothing. A Levels are the real deal.

Don't get yourself worked up over them. They're obviously not as important as A-levels as stated above. They're no where near as scary as they may seem in previous years. You don't have to be up to TSR's standard to achieve results which are well above the national average. Also, I've seen people set themselves standards so high, that if they don't achieve one of the grades they want, then they feel disheartened and it starts to affect their mental attitude towards all subjects.
That being said, you shouldn't just abandon all your hope and ambition just because they're not as important. Try the hardest you possibly can, do all your coursework to the best of your ability and most importantly listening and working in every lesson will save you a hell of a lot of time when it comes to exam leave. The only thing you can do is try your hardest.

Don't take Edexcel Drama unless you like improvisation, minimal script work and endless controlled assessment.
That little groove on your writing finger? It won't go away. (especially if you're taking History, RE and both English!)
Be nice to your teachers! They've saved my ass numerous times.
Try hard - not excessively so, but put the effort in - in your Y10 exams and coursework. When it comes to Y11, if you've got good first year results to bump you up, you don't need to focus on acing all your terminal exams. Unless this year's year 11 is the year where everything happens at the end of Y11? :s

But really, they're not that scary, and not that much worth stressing over.
