Re: Economics or History AS level ??? Help Please :D
Economics has many elements of maths in, so you may find it easier. However, several people I know who take it, find it rather dull... History on the other hand is very interesting, although it can be heavy on the essays. This could be a good contrast, and show Unis that you can do humanities subjects too though.
I would go for whichever you'd get a better grade in, and if you're predicted the same for both then whichever you enjoy more, and if you enjoy them both, go for history :P -

Re: Economics or History AS level ??? Help Please :DMy opinion it that if you don't find it interesting then don't do it... It's so much work that you have to enjoy it or you just won't have the motivation to do so well, and you won't find 6th form so fun!(Original post by foreverstrong_97)

well I guess it depends on where you want to apply. If you look at prospectuses and websites of uni's they usually state which A levels they like. Oxford says that they have no preference for whether the third or fourth A level subject is a science or not, as long as you have chemistry and biol/physics/maths, which you would have. If you think you would do better in economics and you'd enjoy it more, then go for it, because you could still study medicine with chemistry and maths. Maybe you could consider biology instead of further maths, which I've heard is crazy hard?(Original post by foreverstrong_97)

Also, you're 6th form may be flexible in the first few weeks of term - at my 6th form we had about a month where we could swap or drop or take up subjects if we changed our minds after going to a few lessons - you could try going to both for a few weeks and then decide after you've got a real taste of them?
If you know which three you'll do for A2 it doesn't really matter what you do for a 4th AS...Last edited by Nooshkabob; 19-06-2012 at 21:48. -

Re: Economics or History AS level ??? Help Please :DGo with economics if you don't enjoy history. However, you might also find economics boring also if you hate countless graphs.(Original post by foreverstrong_97)
