Should I Reconsider?
Im just wondering how a good instructor should teach. I started driving with a bsm instructor who has not done his final exam or something like that to be classed as ADI. He only books 2 hour slots at 20 quid an hour. A couple of times during the lesson he has been doing some errands like going to the bank, getting a coffee, going to collect money from other people houses.
Although this time spent doing these things is like 10 Min, I'm wondering whether i should change to a ADI and pay a bit more but a instructor who will focus on me. the current guy is ok, like he is pushing me and im improving each lesson, done 10 hours so far.
Should I stick with him or change, and does anyone have reccomendations for instructors in the Harrow, London area. Im looking for instructor that is patient, manual transmission car, pushes and encourages me and can get me passed before the end of 2012, having 2 lessons a week. -
Re: Should I Reconsider?
When hes doing said errands, are you driving or is he? If youre driving its not so much of an issue but its not really right that hes doing it.
If you want to find someone else then I guess you could look here: http://finddrivinginstructor.direct....stcode=HA9+0WS
No idea what your postcode is so I just put in Wembley Stadium
All of those are ADIs as well as some who have signed up to the CPD scheme (which means they should be better than the rest, or thats the idea of the scheme at least).

Re: Should I Reconsider? So, you've had 10 hours, 2 hours per lesson, £20 per hour, 2 lessons per week and you want to pass by the end of the year...that's about 26 weeks. That works out at just over £2000. That's a rip off. When you factor in the extraneous trips that he is doing during your lessons and the fact that he is a trainee, it sounds like you are being taken for a ride.(Original post by StudentNeedingHelp)

If you weren't improving every lesson I'd be even more worried - which would be difficult. How much more of a hint do you want him to give you that you are better off elsewhere? Everything that you have said suggests that you realise that something is seriously wrong - so do something about it!
Clear enough?

Re: Should I Reconsider?
There's a driving school called Sure Pass, and the instructor from Harrow is really really good. I failed my test twice and then switched to him and passed first time. You should get the same instructor as me and 4 of my friends all had him (he's the only instructor from the company around the Harrow area)
