Re: Best Thriller/detective books or authors?Anything by Michael Connelly, he's a great author and the Harry Bosch series is all about a detective, there are 17 books in that series with the newest one due out in November of this year. The first one is The Black Echo and although you don't have to read them in order it can be a little confusing if you dont as although Harry stays the same and the cases change, there are references to things that happened in the past and whilst he briefly explains them it's not quite the same as knowing what exactly happened.(Original post by destination unknown)
Hello,
Can you recommend me some good book or authors? (mainly in thriller/detective)
Thanks
He also wrote the Lincoln Lawyer which is a legal thriller, it was also turned into a movie with Matthew McConaughey
there are 4 books in the Mickey Haller series as well.

I'd go old school - Raymond Chandler is awesome, as is Agatha Christie or Arthur Conan Doyle, and I'd also recommend you check out Wilkie Collins' The Moonstone and G.K. Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday.
Boris Akunin's Erast Fandorin series is also great - set in 19th century Russia.

I mean it's a great book, obviously, but it's not really the spy novel the title leads you to expect.
