    Bikini waxing..
    Heyy, girls!

I'm getting my legs waxed soon and I'm thinking of getting a bikini wax as well.
Has anyone ever done this professionally? I've tried waxing my bikini line at home with the standard Veet kits, but the pain was absolutely unbearable! (I couldn't even bring myself to do the other side! I was uneven for weeks!!)

Professional bikini wax. Yay or nay??

YES. After time you do get used to the pain, but it is definitely worthwhile!

Have you tried doing it yourself? How was the pain with that??

It's just because it was seriously unbearable when I did it myself, so perhaps my pain tolerance is just much much lower :ashamed2:

Nope I've always had it done properly, I wouldn't dream of trying to wax myself incase it went wrong.

Make sure you don't get it done right before your period, I've always been told that your pain threshold is lowest then.
I've not actually done it myself but have a friend who does it every 2 weeks and she said you get used to it after a bit of time and it's nice being all smooth.

Ohh cheers for that tip well, mine will be just after my period! Hopefully my pain threshold will be at its peak then! Haha.

Yes, I regret trying it myself. Worst pain I've ever felt!
How different is it to legs? Is it a lot worse?? I'm so scared! Haha

I believe ovulation is when it's highest, but you should be fine.
If millions of women get it done all the time you may as well try it once - at least you can say you gave it a go.

SO MUCH YAY. No stubble and the pain does get easier after you do it for a while. Stay smoother for longer and your hair becomes more sparce the more you do it, and feels thinner too.

Doing it yourself hurts way more, partly because the wax isn't warm enough and also because you spend half your time getting yourself all geared up to ripping one strip off. In a salon that is pretty much out of your control and they will talk to you the whole way through so you don't concentrate on what's actually happening.

Just had it done!!! OH my, it was definitely painful but NOTHING compared to when I did it myself! I'm going away for 4 weeks tomorrow, so it's nice to know that I won't have to worry about down there :P

Thanks for the tips, girls! I probably wouldn't have gone for it, otherwise! Haha :woo:

I got 100 ready to use wax strips from eBay (veet kind) and I do it myself with no problems. I went for a professional bikini wax once and it was extremely painful - she kept waxing the same area over and over, I couldn't even wear pants for 2 days because any material touching the area was agonising. She also left behind a lot of stray hairs and it turned out wonky!

Just have more confidence when you do it yourself and it will be less painful. If you have a friend to help you as well that can be a real help.

I really want to get it done but i've always thought it would be quite awkward ? knowing that they must hate doing it and everything.
