I get it all off and it's absolutely fine. Try and get it done in a proper beauty (or specialised waxing) salon and get it done by a fully trained professional at least the first time. Some companies (I go to the Brazilian Waxing Company in Manchester, they're amazing!) offer discounts on their partially trained beauticians and while their work is fine, I'd really recommend that you go for a fully trained person for your first visit.

Make sure you get a good amount of growth before your first time and no shaving! If you've shaved before then your hairs will be weak and you won't get a great results the first few times but trust me, it gets so much better. After a few goes your hair will become much finer and your waxes will last longer. The day after you've waxed the area will feel like you've got a bruise and you'll notice a bruise-like pain if you put pressure on it. You can easily work around it, just sometimes it wakes you up when you accidentally knock it on the side of a table.

As for it being awkward, the salon I go to is nice and warm, has a massive TV playing music videos in your room and the women waxing me are always lovely. I love chatting with the waxers and they make me feel so comfortable. It's always good to have someone nice while you're in the foetal position with them ripping your butt hairs out...

    Yay definitely.

If it's done professionally, the pain will be quite bearable. The first time may be hurt, but you'll soon get used to it.

Yes it really hurts but it's totally worth it and make sure you get it done professionally and in good hygienic conditions and pls don't ever try it at home coz it's a very sensitive area and should be waxed with great care. It will hurt a lot but its worth it
    Good luck

    WAXING AT HOME?

I'm thinking of trying at home waxing strips, probably the veet ones at my hair down there just grows stupidly fast.

    Questions are;
    How much does it hurt?
Any tips for a first timer on procedure etc?
Should I grow the hair a bit before I wax?
Is there any things you can do to reduce the pain?

    Don't.

You won't be able to pull from the right angle leading to leftover wax, poorly skin and a hell'a lot of ingrown hairs.

If you're serious about it then let you hair grow for at least four weeks (six is better), exfoliate at least once everyday for a week before you wax (I use a pumice stone - the one for you feet) and get a friend to help you pull off the strips. You'll get too scared and tense up and will eventually end up showering off the wax because you'll whimp out. You can't reduce the pain, you're ripping hair out of your body, after all.

Just don't even attempt it at home and get a professional to do it for you. Seriously.

I just got my first bikini wax done yesterday and it was fine! Tbh it hurt less than getting a leg wax, probably because there's less space to have hairs ripped out out.

I'm going to get it done in a salon for the first time next Friday and I have a few questions for the girls who have had it done previously..

How long does the hairs need to be? Do they get rid of it all completley(manage to get inside?)

At least a centimetre, although the longer the better. You need about four-six weeks growth as your hairs will all grow at different speeds so that while you still have some hairs at 1cm, you'll still have some annoying short hairs that won't wax as well.

I'm guessing by 'inside' you mean the actual vagina part of your vagina - ie the pinky fleshy bits. If you go for a hollywood (everything including bum) then yes, the 'inside' bits will be waxed too. However if you just go for bikini then you'll literally only have the outer bikini regions waxed. Just ring them up to check if you're unclear.
