Re: Interview/Assessment at BootsHey, well for my experiences, I have had some experience with telephone sales so I wrote about that. That was my only experience, but you can write about any other experiences you have had as well i.e. volunteering (I'm at uni at the moment so its easy for me to make up so much other experiences). But you could just say you've helped with doing school tours during open evenings etc and say you developed your communication skills there. You could make it up really as long as you write how you developed all the skills they're looking for.(Original post by acer0951)
ekta what did u write in ur next application about why u wanted to work there and ur experiences? Thnx

I don't think they asked why you want to work there in the application. But they do have a section where you have to write all your notable achievements. There I just wrote any experiences I've had and how I can use the skills in Next. E.g "I helped organise an event and made sure it ran smoothly, and so I can make sure everything runs smoothly on the Next sales floor". In the end show you've done some research about Next e.g. it's a reputable company, you love shopping there, you have a passion for both fashion and working in retail, you love helping customers etc.
Also have you applied there before and got rejected? It could also be the questionnaire they ask you which you could be getting wrong. Hope this helps! -
Re: Interview/Assessment at BootsThanks alt for all the advice! yh ive applied to next loads of times but i really my answers are right but still get rejected. Do u think it could be my age im 16(Original post by ekta9)

Re: Interview/Assessment at BootsI've got an interview for monday, and I'm from london too. Trust me I've applied to so many for about 1 year. I can't even count how many reection emails i've got rom them. So many people apply for boots jobs like i'm talking 100s of people for the same position, and I was really lucky to get an interview. It's a numbers game, keep applying. It's nothing to do with your age, but getting work in London is really hard as it is. Just keep applying and you'll get one soon enough. You have to apply for it as soon as it is put up so check daily.(Original post by acer0951)

Good luck! -
Re: Interview/Assessment at BootsDefinitely don't think its your age! Most employers prefer to employ someone aged 16 as they can pay them lower wages. Don't give up! I've also had countless rejection emails in the past few months but yeah as the post above says, apply as soon as they post the job and maybe even subscribe to these employers so you get an email as soon as they post the job! Good luck(Original post by acer0951)

Re: Interview/Assessment at Boots
I work at boots and have done for about 5 years as a part time sales assistant
i my interview and overlooking others we had to help around the store
they ask u to hand out and ask if anyone would like an advantage card benefits of it
ask u to help packing bags at the tills
hand out baskets around the store
then your asked a few basic questions like why boots and so on pretty easy
they get u to do the tasks so that the other members of staff see what ure like and if they like u or not so always be nice to them and also always smile and be very polite and curteous
also slip in that ure intrested in working on the healthcare counter and stuff
good luck -
Re: Interview/Assessment at Boots
See if you get an email saying you missed out on this occasion but i'd encourage you to sign up for job alerts, I take it that means you passed the questions/personality section?
If you pass that bit, does that mean you're answers will be stored for the next job you apply to at boots? you don't have to answer all that again, do you?

Re: Interview/Assessment at BootsI got my rejection about a week after my interview. And I think I did get that email. You can maybe call the store and ask to speak to the manager that interviewed you if you haven't heard for 2 weeks or more.(Original post by Miss Tiff)
how long did you have to wait to get rejected? did you get a email saying 'confidential' its been over a week and i haven't heard nothing back im quite annoyed because i cant apply anywhere else in boots. -
Re: Interview/Assessment at BootsTrust me ive rang the store the recruitment line and it still says my application hasnt been updated they havent 'made a decision yet' if im unsuccessful just let me know instead of waiting!(Original post by cat_lover)

Re: Interview/Assessment at Boots
Hi. I just got an email from Boots, asking me to complete their online assessment (2nd stage) I think this is what I usually fail in - in Marks & Spencer, Asda, Tescoes etc. But I really need this job! Making it to the interview stage would mean a lot.
Does anyone have any tips on completing this online assessment? Thanks. -
Re: Interview/Assessment at BootsHi, I've just been offered a job at Boots and in the online assessment I just chose all the answers to do with being outgoing, social, team-oriented and resilient to setbacks.(Original post by Andicate)

In case anyone wants to know, in the actual interview/in-store assessment (which took over an hour!) I was first taken to a room and asked several questions by the manager. The ones I can remember were quite basic, like why did I want to work there, describe a time when I motivated people, worked as part of a team to get something done, was instructed how to do something and then had to do it myself etc. Luckily the manager helped me and prompted me if I hadn't expanded enough on my answers and left something out.
I was then taken onto the shop floor and given several different scenarios and asked how I'd act, e.g. a woman needs help for dry hair, another wants to know how to get shiny hair. Then I had to show the manager a product I love from Boots. When we'd found it I was asked to (hypothetically) sell it to her, then an old person and then a teenager. She then took an item off the No 7 stand and I was asked to talk to customers about the product. This was slightly awkward but I found offering free samples helped (It was hand cream
) and luckily a lovely woman stopped and chatted for AGES giving loads of feedback on the whole range.
I then had to point out confident and non-confident customers and say why they looked this way, then offer non-confident looking customers help. Finally, I had to answer a question on which aisles customers should not be offered help in (the answer is obviously when looking at personal/embarrassing items, lol).
I hope this helps a few people
