Hey, my friend told me the other day I could hunt around on facebook and such to find people I might be living with at halls beforehand, but I dont see or know how I could do this? Could anyone help? FYI Im going to the halls at Bradford, and I'm curious to find out early who I'll be meeting

It's a matter of luck, even if you find groups you might not find people in your flat, I found 3 in mine before starting. The majority of people won't know each other at all before going to Uni so don't worry if you don't find anyone.

When moving in most uni's will give you a little pack that will include information about freshers week, events going on, timetables for introduction talks, what's happening at the student union etc. If you can't find anything now you should once you get there, and you can always google the uni's student union and see what events they've got coming up, but it might be too early still for posts about events in late september or so.

A few weeks before heading to university, I searched my halls of residence on Facebook, and luckily managed to find all six of my flatmates, and some people from the block I was staying in too. I certainly found it useful, as it enabled us to get a little bit familiar with one another before we moved, so we knew everyones names and where they came from etc.

The university will usually send you a Freshers pack a few weeks beforehand, which has a timetable of all the events and activities going on. I don't think I received my pack until late August, so there is plenty of time for you to receive it yet!

hey im going to bradford too and ive searched on facebook and cant find anything. i say you should start one yourself because im sure plenty more freshers are looking for familiar faces i dont know where im staying yet myself but i know il be at the green

there probally wont be much until after results day when the majority of people have their places and accomodation confirmed. also around that time the uni should send you information about freshers week.
