Murmuring old canticles
Warm among aumbries
Echoing from chantry
Songfeast at sunswing
Tiding the year's fullness
At solstice the sunstop
Monks obey and bow
Their cowls once more
Free from the sad litany
Of cashpercent greedings
They toil only for love
Childless untouched
Daringly undarlinged
Their currency is prayer
Exchanged for grace
At a variable rate
Embracing austerity
