Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEI, uh, put 200. Awk.(Original post by bezabe)
Yep, definitely much happier after the P3 horror show. Just a bit uncertain on some things, like was it 25 hours that the gas burner lasted for? And what happens to the waste energy? Other than small things like that it was fine.
And the waste energy goes to waste heat and noise that is lost in the air. At least, that's what I put. -
Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEI got 200kWh for the energy used, but then for the number of hours it lasted, I did, E=pt, so t=e/p = 200/8(power used by the boiler as stated in the information), which gave 25. But I may have been wrong.(Original post by EvilAligator)

I crossed out outer shell at the last minute and put in nucleus!!(Original post by EvilAligator)
Definitely not as bad as P3- that was a horrible exam. Nothing too bad I didn't think, except I put that a beta particle is an electron from the outer shell but apparently it's from the nucleus... Oops XD
I think it was 25 hours.(Original post by bezabe)

Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEAh. Maybe that was it. I think I misunderstood the 15p/£30 thing.(Original post by bezabe)

Oh but the boiler doesn't use 8kW/h- it only uses 7.6kW/h, which was the answer to the last question. I think? -
Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEWell g'damn. Nice one! Thought it was too obvious... XD(Original post by Frankster)

Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEHaha! Luck was on my side today. It had to be after my poor P3! haha...(Original post by EvilAligator)

Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSE
I gt 2.5 for the energy question. (did pennies wrong haha) would I get one mark? I showed quite a lot of working. Also what did people get for the last question on alf life? I think I may have got that wrong. Other than that though not a bad exam, a lot better than the nervous breakdown I nearly had in P3

Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEIt's 90 years for the last question.(Original post by ClarkyC...)

Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEOkay so what about the energy question, 1 mark possible?(Original post by Frankster)
It's 90 years for the last question. -
Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSENo, I don't think so. I originally used 7.6 but then put 8 because it uses 8kW regardless of how much is converted into useful energy.(Original post by EvilAligator)

Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEI think so, because depending upon your working you should be safe...(Original post by ClarkyC...)
Okay so what about the energy question, 1 mark possible?
it asked you how much energy goes into heating water.. so i think 7.6 is correct = 0.95 x 8(Original post by bezabe)
No, I don't think so. I originally used 7.6 but then put 8 because it uses 8kW regardless of how much is converted into useful energy. -
Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEi got 7.6(Original post by Frankster)

Re: PHY1H (OLD SPEC) Unit 1 AQA GCSEYeah it's right.. i really hope i don't cock this one up as well!(Original post by xoxlovelifexox)
i got 7.6
