Hey, Ive had eczema all my life and I'm 17 now! It's annoying and I have used every cream available to treat it.
I have severe eczema on my hands and head in particular. See your GP and depending on the severity, they will refer you to a dermatologist. I saw mine last year and he started me on a course of phototherapy - not going to lie - its embarrassing, and if your claustrophobic- terrifying, but it helps. My eczema has become more manageable now thanks to it. It is very time consuming as you are required at the hospital 3 times a week.
Another source of treatment is Steroid creams and E45. Personally, I try and avoid steroid creams because they sting like hell and it's too painful for me. E45 seems to irritate my skin even more so I use Aveeno cream. It can be bought over the counter at most pharmacies and it works
as my eczema is particularly worse at night I always wear cotton gloves and celo tape the ends, it means I avoid scratching. It's just the little things you can do that will help you a great deal.
Good luck

I don't have eczema but when I get stressed I tear my arms apart, the doctor gave me a steroid ointment called dermovate to heal it, I think it must be way strong because when I've scratched them to the extent that they're openly bleeding all over the place, if I put this stuff on then go to bed, the next morning it's already healing perfectly, takes about 2-3 days total to make them look totally normal again, barely even a scar. You couldn't even tell something was wrong. And it doesn't sting at all, have you ever had that one?(Original post by dippers)
This is the first time my elbows have changed colour. E45 isn't strong enough anymore I have double base and I'm somes provided steroid ointments. I don't think the colour will change, my doctor said I would have to move abroad and it would tan :/

Re: eczemaI'm not sure, I think I might have, I've had some many different ointments with similar names over the past 2 years it's hard to keep track of! I currently use dovobet, you are suppose to be 18 to use it and I'm 16 :/ so I think this must be quite strong.(Original post by LSD)
