If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensive...
...schools on the planet (at least the known ones)?
For example, Institut Le Rosey is an international private boarding charging somewhere in the region of £60-70k a year (currently circa $106k). It is regarded as one of the most prestigious institutions in the world.
However, greatly rivalling it in price (and probably renown) is College Alpin International Beau Soleil, charging around £80-90k a year (circa $144k).
Eton and Westminster seem like babies compared to these monstrous things

If I could, I would. But I know some would be like 'Oh, it's such a waste of money blah blah, why would you? etc etc). But if you actually could, you might as well.
Opinions, thoughts?
(P.S. I was trying to find more expensive ones, but to no avail. If you find any others which charge more than £90k+, tell us. Personally, I would have expected much more expensive ones, but didn't find any. There are many, many people rich enough and such fees (even with additional fees) would be small peanuts.) -
Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivI know what you mean but surely they'd still be in touch with reality, albeit a different reality, but still it would be their reality.(Original post by Xarren)
No. I'd want my child to be in touch with reality.. -
Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivIn touch with reality on some hill in the middle of no where?(Original post by Naarim)

I had meant "Reality" as the "reality of everyday human life" -
Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivWhat does that even mean? The children will probably experience more life and social life etc than going to say, a random grammar in Hampshire or an average state in North London.(Original post by Xarren)

Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivYou miss the point. You would have lots of cash anyway. You would be able to send say, one or two kids there for seven years and still be exceptionally comfortable.(Original post by chickenonsteroids)
No. It would be a waste of money. I could use that money for much better things lol -
Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivTrue. But it tends to do so. Hence why Eton for example cost more than Latymer.(Original post by SubAtomic)
Yes, but I would only send them somewhere based on the schools results and the schools outlook, not just because of the price.
Maybe not boarding though because the child could possibly develop misguided views.
Price
Quality in much of the world.

Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensiv
Not at all, why would I pay for my children's education whatever the price?
Everyone becomes disadvantaged sooner or later, but I'm not making my children be responsible for the automatic downfall of children in comprehensive schools just because they don't have enough money.
They can push themselves if they want to do well, and achieve just the same as those who pay money, but be proud they have only put time and effort in, and not had to throw money at it.
Plus, those kids would be so spoilt and bratty! -
Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivI'd send my child to a suburban London Grammar.. Perhaps the one I attended.(Original post by ArthurWinterthurII)

Very high academic standards with great oxbridge prospects, normal every day life and an opportunity to enjoy the big city. -
Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivBecause everybody who has more cash than average is a 'stuck up fu**er' right?(Original post by mikeyd85)
Nope. I don't want my kids around rich, stuck up ****ers. -
Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensiv
Hey guys, I'm going to be running a private college from the back of my shed from next term. The fees will be starting at 120k per annum, so only those with the deepest pockets will be able to attend. I hope you find the prospect
attractivelucrative. Amenities will include: alpine sleighing off the gaah-rage roof when it snows, getting a hands on experience with ecology by digging in our luxurious botanical garden
. Unfortunately, we do not have the facility to offer discounts but do award nominal scholarships at a small fee. Yours faithfully, Mr Blutooth (Oxtab).

Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivBeau Soleil is the second most expensive school in the world after Institut Le Rosey which is situated in Rolle, Switzerland.Goddammit wikipediaAs of 2011, the annual boarding and academic fees are CHF 90,000 (approximately $106,000 USD), making it the second most expensive school in the world, after the world-renowned Collège Alpin International Beau Soleil
which one is the most expensive? I don't like being confused

Re: If you had the money, would you go/send your children to one of the most expensivNo, not really. I could still send a kid to Beau Soleil and still give, say £90k to Cancer Research and another £90k for some small investment etc etc. Hence why I said 'if you had the money' in the title (meaning, if £90k was peanuts to you).(Original post by minimarshmallow)
