I though it would be easier if we had a separate thread for just essay questions.
Any ideas? I didn't think they would use essays from the old specification but last year they used the cycles question which has come up so that opens up more possible essays. Please post any suggestions

Omg, I would kill for a question on enzymes!! That's probably the only topic I can talk about on and on, for ever and ever.
Well, DNA and cycles in biology won't come up because those were the topics on the last paper, in June 2011 so that's a relief.
Maybe proteins - a more general thing than just enzymes? Or a topic on ecology. That's my guess.

I'm thinking if not proteins (which would include enzymes of course) then maybe the essay will be on...
Transport in organisms, or something like cell structure and function.
P.S. are hormones proteins?

Not a bad idea actually. You can even pick up ideas from the questions themselves ;o

Does anybody know if its true that only like 4 marks or somthing on the marking of the essay is for 'relevance', meaning you could write an essay on any topic on biology i.e. practice a pre-canned essay on your favourite area e.g. enzymes or ions or somthing, and you would only lose 4 of the 20 or so available for the essay?
