The house smells of petrol. how can we get rid of it?

We think it was due to windows and doors being open and fumes from whatever the neighbours were doing getting into the house. So is there anything we can do while it still smells of petrol outside aswell as inside?

stand in the room with the most concentrated amount of petrol fumes. Light up a fag. The smell of the cig should then cover up the smell of petrol.
