Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)Thank you! Right to the wire, but we got there in the end. I think they're going to try and put her in my little group too which will be fab(Original post by Flakeydom)

Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)LOL you were getting too much into the role(Original post by Mola)
I know, I was there in the group right next to yours on the left
Personally, we were all too busy screaming and laughing at the rain to let it get to us. Even when I got a faceful of water using a certain prop in our first song.
Bringing a change of clothes tomorrow!!
I never thought I'd attend rehearsals where bringing three sets of footwear and teabags would form my usual items in my shoulder bag. (May consider bringing kettle, milk and cup)

So, Thursday's rehearsal for the 63's has been cancelled as well as the 65's.Eh? How strange - 51ers just had the two dress rehearsals on Mon & Thurs confirmed (plus our private segment party!!); I thought they would use both days for full run-throughs. But maybe they only need to rehearse transitions in isolation - and the nature of the OCC might not need much transitioning either.(Original post by RJV)
Well we (72) have had Monday's rehearsal cancelled (although they might try to add one if they can) but we are there on Thursday.. When do we get to do a full run through with everyone?
Interesting to see how different the organisation of the OCC is compared to the OOC. A few marshals are slightly disappointed that Kevin did not introduce himself to us yet, whereas Danny seemed to make every effort to connect with as many volunteers as possible. But I fully appreciate that Kevin will be very busy now, and our jolly dancing can't compete with the much more spectacular acts! -

Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)There seems to be a few changes. Our two "On Call" days for Tuesday and Wednesday cancelled. Our second "Dress Rehearsal" scheduled for next Thursday also cancelled. So we only have tomorrow and Monday before "Show Day" at the Stadium.(Original post by commonliner)

They're predicting showers on Sky News for tomorrow and I'm praying : "No, Nooo, pleeeeeeeeaasseeee no. Not again". I'm getting fed up of rain soaked rehearsals and being drenched all the time. I'm praying that I don't catch pneumonia at this rate!
CCs just sent an email confirming next week's Thursday's cancellation with an addendum at the end informing Cast Members that they've been aware of people arriving at rehearsals late and leaving early. They acknowledge the fact that there are many, many hours of sitting around which for some people can be extremely boring at times. This could be the reason why there were CCs standing near the entrance at the beginning of yesterday's rehearsal.
Btw, who's Kevin?? -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)It's the famous Kim Gavin Kevin, don't you know him?(Original post by Dancerwoman)
Btw, who's Kevin??
Sorry, it's Friday, my brain has already shut down...
We'll be there tomorrow, too. I think I am 318, we got renumbered. -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)I had a feeling you meant Kim but I wasn't too sure(Original post by commonliner)

Fingers tightly crossed that we get a DRY rehearsal. -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
BTW, I heard (though not confirmed) that Monday's rehearsal would more likely cover the first part whilst the Thursday the second part. As my Segment's in the first part, that probably explains why we are no longer required for Thursday. I think it's most likely you'll get another set of "groups" for Thursday.
That's my speculation anyway. -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
Whoo, just over a week to go to the Closing Ceremony!
Off to East London at the crack of dawn tomorrow to collect my accreditation. Although there's some confusion over the flag handover cast still - everyone who's been rehearsing up until now has been told to go and collect their accreditation, but we know for a fact that not all of us will be performing. Some people were told on Monday that they've been cut, but have still been asked to collect their accreditation pass; some were told they were cut, but then had a phone call on Wednesday reinstating them; I was told on Monday that I was still in the cast, but my costume had been removed from the racks along with those belonging to the people who'd been cut... so who knows if I'm still in it or not?! Not me!
I shall be a bit annoyed if I go all the way to UDAC tomorrow and find out there that I've been cut. Not half as frustrated though as I'll be if I go there, queue up, get my accreditation, turn up to rehearsal tomorrow afternoon and THEN find out I'm out! -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
Kim Gavin has been very much present at the last few rehearsals for the 80's - perhaps it's the fact that it's wall to wall pretty girlies
, or more probably that he's working with the lovely Cindy J who did the Take That tour with him on that segment.

Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)Now that IS strange. You'd have thought they'd got their act together by now for it's only just over a week to go for goodness sake!(Original post by Terpsikhore)

The only thing that springs to mind is that those who've been told they were "cut" could well be in relation to the Olympic Closing Ceremony. As for reinstatement, they may have been cut from the Olympic Closing and instead placed in the Paras Closing. This I think would be the only reason why - despite being "cut" that invites have been sent out to collect Accreditation Passes.
I actually envisaged Rio Flag Handover for the Olympic Closing to be extremely competitive and I speculate the Paras (although competitive) would not be as highly competitive as the Olympic Closing.
Well, that's my "take" on it anyway. -
