Re: Performance Volunteers: Olympics & Paralympics Ceremonies (London 2012)
Right - to stop the confusion let's use the same title! Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)

Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)I saw her too. She was a member of Stage Management.(Original post by Drumbeat)
does anyone know why a lady was taking some of our bib no. down last night not sure what she was looking for.
Add me in, now that we've had definite confirmation that we're NOT at 1:1 on Sunday!(Original post by Pinnerite)
So far I have potential meetees for Sunday as Sunday shopper Flakeydom (plus spreadsheet hopefully ) and hard working-absOn, commonliner, drumbeat, Mum of Students, Kit-Yan and Olympian and yours truly. Anymore we should look out for or that I have missed and could any 51er suggest a suitable meeting place if we do decide to meet up at the stadium??Last edited by RocKeRG; 20-06-2012 at 18:43. -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
Time to PM / raid past emails to inform as many people about the existence of this new thread. Hopefully, word will get around. I've emailed Flakey, Mola and Pinnerite. Going to check which other TSR's have contacted me to let them know.
If we can get this thread going, then that would be progress for unless TSR keeps the name of the original thread (but just trims it), then I can see that there's going to be mass confusion on the Olympic TSR front. -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
Right, that was all a bit unexpected.
Anyway, just a reminder that this forum is public and temptation was building up in the old thread to let details slip. Careful, please.
For the record, I'm also on standby for Rio but once I've clarified some details with Tate Modern I will pull out of the Paralympic Flag Handover. You'll meet me in the Turbine Hall almost every weekend in August and October.
The stage management person must have had other responsibilities: I don't need glasses yet she was staring intently at my bib - twice. -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
Thanks BigNic, just making sure that this thread gets more popular so that we can continue where we left off!
Guys, if you received (or sent) PMs to anyone, please could you raid your Inboxes and let them know about this thread? Thanks!
I've emailed the following:-
Mum of Students
Awsum
Olympian
Kernowayr
OneAndOnlyEmmaW
(Just realised that I didn't inform Cornishscot. Tried emailing but her name didn't come up(??) will double check my Inbox to ensure that she's kept "in the loop".) -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
You did - I was leaving work, cycling home, stopping at the Post Office to get tickets, fighting with my key in my doorlock (had to go to neighbour to get the spare and will need to call a locksmith) so only just back online...
But yes, I've found it, the spreadsheet is up to date with Mola's news (any news on the sis, Mola?) and I'd much prefer us keeping everyone together - Olympics/Paras and Rio for the record rather than having multiple threads.
We just need to ask the mods to reference this thread in Abiraleft's final post in the old thread and then we'll be good to go. And probably a good idea for RocKeRG to post a link to the old thread in his first post on this thread so that we can reference back if we ever want to relive everything again.
EDIT - I've asked the mods to add the linkLast edited by Flakeydom; 20-06-2012 at 19:47. -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)Good call... I spotted a couple of bits and wondered (i.e. the names of some parts of the G&P, I'm guessing) although not sure if that would help me.(Original post by commonliner)

Anyhow... to important matters... are we definitely starting at Tap East on Sunday at 1? Drumbeat, I know that there's still The Cow but Tap East has much much much better beer! -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
Phew! Glad to find you all after doing a quick Olympics search. That threw me a bit.
And how mad is it that never having been on a forum before I suddenly felt bereft at the thought that our group had been disbanded.
We got our fencing tickets today and I've booked the free residents tickets to watch the closing ceremony in Victoria Park. -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
I was getting really excited with us nearly reaching the 10,000th post mark! I'll now have something to tell my new performing friends about.
Marshalls had the very first rehearsal in the actual stadium last night, It was amazing! =] Coming out of the VOMs for the first time was an amazing feeling, especially with the music pumping out of the speakers! =]
They provide food for you at the stadium as you're not allowed to take your own (looks like i won't be making anymore cake!) You get sandwiches, Pringles, Nutri grain and a apple! The sandwiches are things like salmon, Chicken, egg, tuna etc..... The smoking area is right outside the stadium so a 30second walk from your seat! -
Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)Glad and relieved that you managed to find us JessyKarH! I was frantically skimming through several pages of the [closed] thread to see if there was any I missed out. Apologies if you hadn't heard from me informing of this thread - skimming through previous pages of the old thread and frantically writing down names can be very exhausting.(Original post by JessykarH)

Last set of emails sent to:-
1983Mike
Tinydancersmum
Wickgrin
Mandy_Panda
Neom
That's my lot. Apologies to anyone that did not receive an email from me. I will not be sending anymore for fear that TSR may (mistakenly) think that what I'm sending is spam - due to the frequency of my emailing.
