Re: Did anyone else get an audition for the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony? (Part 2)
Just had a phone call from Casting in response to my e-mail about mysterious accreditation for OOC that I picked up last week from UDAC - they have confirmed there are still some issues with accreditation processing that they are "working on" and, in my case, this should all be resolved at/soon after my first POC/PCC ceremonies rehearsal at 3 Mills on 17th July so "not to worry" meantime.

Other TSRs have, likewise advised me of issues with their accreditation (the main one being only accredited for OOC when they need both OOC & OCC as performing in both) so I guess that will be sorted out soon too if those affected have notified their cast co-ordinator(s) of the issue(s).

Don't know if that helps anyone still waiting to hear about their own accreditation or not but ...............

3 weeks to go and let's hope the weather is better than it is today!! Still showing overcast and cloudy on the long-term forecast.

Totally miserable weather for July - but, on the plus side, UDAC is very close to Star Lane DLR so if you choose that travel option (however you elect to get there!) you shouldn't get too wet going there today.

I wish they'd make up their minds. I asked CC last week, and they said it was fine to talk as long as nothing at all of the detail was discussed, I.e. "I'm in the Olympic Ceremony with lots of other people, and it's really good fun - but secret!" Not very newsworthy, but OK to use, apparently.
Probably depends on who you speak to at Casting what response you get from them on this (& they're own interpretation of "no media interviews" to a certain extent).

On a slightly different vein those of us who did Module 3 training for London Ambassadors at City Hall last week were told that the estate owners of MORE London do not authorise us to "give out" info. leaflets to anyone whilst we are there but it's perfectly o.k for visitors to approach us and ask/take any of those we have available (all pre-approved by the More London Estate Managers apparently).

Quite how that will work in practice is anyone's guess but I am thinking that our Location Managers have not interpreted the directive correctly and, if not, More London estates will have trouble enforcing that rule anyway come Games Time (although I fully accept that we should not actively force these leaflets upon people and should certainly not accept any further "unapproved" leaflets to hand out from anyone else, particularly unlicensed commercial operations seeking to tout for business using our free labour !). There are also no rubbish bins provided at this location so we also have to endeavour to minimise the risk of too many leaflets being discarded by people who've been given them but don't really want them in the first place.

    Oh joy !

Wow. Some queue at UDAC although given how many barriers they have lined up around the car park, it's not as bad as it may be!

Warning that apparently this is UDAC's busiest day to date. Time to get through just for accreditation this afternoon was 90 minutes. There were quite a few contractors and cleaning staff as well as volunteers.

I luckily asked how long queue was since I had a flight. And wow, you can see how great our Gamesmakers are going to be to visitors! Whoosh - taken to front of queue, taken to front of Helpdesk since it only had OOC and outside in 10 minutes with correct pass. Seriously helpful people! Think it helped that I was clutching suitcase and sound Scottish though before everyone tries that approach.

Now safely en route to Heathrow! As I said to Awsum earlier, do you think I could use my accreditation as photo ID to board my flight? ;p

Yes. My original tickets are collectors ones as are the ones I got in the last big sale on 23May. The other ones that I have picked up since then have all arrived in the smaller (uglier) format.

Nope - the accreditation queue was 90 minutes today!

Then Gamesmakers were going off to queue for uniforms. I spoke to a guy on the way out who was just collecting accreditation and was leaving at 2.50pm after getting there at 1.15pm. And he had had a smooth - no Helpdesk - route through.

One of the volunteers said that today was the busiest yet. When I got there, there was a double line just to get into the building and then a 15 minute wait in the car park to join that one. The queue only went along one side of the car park - the barriers are set up to go right round!

Thanks for the heads up re UDAC. I was going to leave now from Hackney to get mine, but I have an appointment so will go 1st thing in the morning.
Our rehearsal has been cancelled tomorrow (5th cancellation!). I know they know what they are doing, but it does feel as if we are going backwards in our group and have had no way near enough practice.
I think I won't tell my family it has been cancelled as I don't want to spend the day with my mother in law. 1 1/2 weeks into a 3 month stay and already I'm feeling the strain...

Still no times for the remaining 12 of our rehearsals! That includes next weekend too.

This was posted from The Student Room's Android App on my HTC Desire S
Yes I know, I work in a primary school, albeit mornings only and the week where we are at rehearsals for 3 consecutive days, are now really busy due to staff changes and children moving to new classrooms etc so the Head wants to know whats going on with my timings for rehearsals!!!! We really do need to know now as most other groups know all theirs

I've just booked off full days this afternoon and warned meetings that it is likely I will have to cancel. Not ideal - and think Bruce Springsteen tickets will go on eBay over the weekend since now v unlikely that both Mum and I will make it. Feel bad since it was her Christmas present!

The 44s have just been emailed with a possible contingency rehearsal added to the existing schedule w/c 16 Jul. Also confirmation for us that it's 10am starts for the final 4 rehearsals - which didn't surprise me.

Hotfooting it down to UDAC tomorrow after the torch comes through our high street in the morning - could do with the queue being shorter than 90 mins!

And suspect that we'll have every kind of weather over the weekend...

Just had an email from CC in response to one I sent earlier. It just says that as soon as they have ANY times they will contact us and thanking us for patience. Sounds like they're not imminent!

Wonder what the hold up is? I know we probably have the least complicated stuff to do but it would be good to know when we're needed.

Just received an email cancelling 51's session tommorrow and changing it to a costume call. Wonder if they'll reschedule this in an already tight schedule from next week onwards.
