unusual situation regarding conditional and entry
Hey guys, new here so no idea if I'm posting in the right place. Anyway, this is my situation and I would really appreciate your opinions.

I'm a mature student (24) and just finished a SWAP access to uni course with ABB. I applied to Edinburgh uni via UCAS for an Arabic language degree and received a conditional - I needed to get BBB. But I am also required to pass all my language units and I failed one of the units - the higher Spanish, due to what I would call extenuating circumstances. I was Ill on and off for about 2 months and missed a lot of the classes ( I can get a doctors note ) also on the last week of my course when I had my Higher Spanish exams, I was evicted from my flat by the fire board without any notice because the property was unsafe to live in, I had to deal with being homeless and finding time to revise which was nearly impossible. I still passed the course with ABB though but I'm really worried Edinburgh uni won't let me in just because I didn't pass the Higher Spanish unit.

What do you all think? what are the chances that it will all be OK ?

    Thanks

Your best bet is to contact them directly. I'm sure they'd happily answer your questions. My opinion is that they should overlook the last failed unit with those circumstances so best of luck

You'll never know unless you ask Edinburgh.

Thanks for the reply guys. Yes I could easily phone and I will do that tomorrow. To be honest I just made the thread to see what you all thought about the situation and if you think the Uni will take pity on me by doing that I thought It would make me feel a little better about the whole thing

Any other thoughts are welcome. Thanks
