    Is this anxiety or just can't hold it in?
    Hey Guys;

    Well, my parents have gone away for a couple of weeks and am at home by myself (except when I go to school of course), anyway, I have noticed my dog leaves me a small puddle everyday while I am out.

    I leave at around 8 in the morning and my aunt or uncle come to my house at around 12 to let my dog out to do his business. Anyway, there is only a 4 hour window between him seeing a person every time (I usually get in around half 4).

    Anyway, I want to know if you think this is the case of him not not being able to hold it in or a case of fear. (He is 12 years old and never peed in the house when anyone is in the house or at night).

    Sounds like it might be some kind of anxiety; you said yourself he never does it when people are around.

    What does the puddle look like? If it's a very small wee than that's also a sign of nervousness, but if there's any blood in it, it might be that he has an infection.

    Perhaps you could find time to take him out for a quick wee in the morning, to see if that helps.

    I let him out twice in the mornings.
    Once when he finishes his breakfast and then I throw him out just before I leave.
    And no blood in it at all.

    What about the quantity of wee? If it's an actual full bladder making him go, then it'll be a reasonable amount. If it's anxiety, it'll be a tiny little bit.

    You could get a plug in pheromone diffuser to ease his stress while you're out, but if it's only going to be for a few weeks then you might just have to put up with it.

    If it gets worse or doesn't go away when your parents get back, take him to the vet. They'll know more than anyone on here!
