What did everyone write for 7a- the two properties of microwaves and radio waves.
I said they are both transverse and both have longer wavelengths and shorter frequencies than the other waves on the spectrum.
I may have got one on that one

Re: AQA GCSE Physics Unit 1 - 20th June 2012 - MY UNOFFICIAL MARK SHEMEFrom the grade boundaries, say an exam was out of 100 UMS and the grade boundaries were as follows:A*-59 A-53 B-46 C-40 D-34.Each grade is worth 10% less UMS an A*=90% UMS,A=80 UMS,etc. The UMS of marks in between grades is the UMS between the 2 grades/raw marks between grades and this is the rate of ums to raw mark conversion and from this you can calculate any mark eg.58 marks 59-53=6 raw marks,90-80=10 UMS points,10/6=1.6666.... 1.6666...85=8.3333.... and UMS points get rounded using usual rounding rules so a mark of 58,would get 80 UMS+8=88 UMS and if you wanted to know marks above the A* grade boundary are calculated by the use of a CAP,which is the amount of marks for 100% and this is calculated by the A* boundary-A boundary(59-53=6)+the A* boundary=65 and then from this you can use the same process I described previously.(Original post by BLTontour)
How are UMS points calculated?

Re: AQA GCSE Physics Unit 1 - 20th June 2012 - MY UNOFFICIAL MARK SHEMEDon't worry you can make up for it in the ISA, P2 and P3(Original post by 08rbut)
I got a B - one mark off an A! So annoyed about that but hey, I thought I completely messed up that paper as I am sure I missed about 3 questions!

Re: AQA GCSE Physics Unit 1 - 20th June 2012 - MY UNOFFICIAL MARK SHEMEyour right, i guess i can still get an A*(Original post by Raasib21)
well done! don't worry its only 1 ums but if you get 91 ums in unit 2 then it'll be like you got 90 ums on both units (1 and 2)
