Latest to expect to be able to move into shared house
Me and two other friends are currently searching for a house to move into, we were looking at July but due to some fairly complex circumstances (possibly getting a house bought for us by one friends' parents) and a bit of bad luck one of the trio forgot to hand in a two months advance notice at their current house, required before they can move out.
Is it reasonable to expect a fair few houses in the Crookes/Broomhill/Ecclesall area to be available for letting at the beginning of August (at a push) or September? As far as I can see most places want rent for July but I don't know if I'm not looking hard enough.
Alternatively, would it be reasonable to hope that somebody would move into one of the houses - either to avoid the 2 months notice problem in the currently occupied house, or to avoid the problem of paying rent for two locations in the prospective July houses?
I'm not sure how happy a landlord would be about signing a tiny contract, or if they discovered that somebody totally different to the signatory was living there.
Thanks for the help,
E
