    Das Boot (1981) - Opinions?
I recorded the film a long time ago - pre exams - and since my last one was today I figured I'd try and watch it. I've seen bits and bobs through the exam period but I haven't really been able to commit to it fully. I'm fine with subtitled films, it's not a problem it just seems a bit slow? I recorded it because it was in the IMDB Top 250 and I'm attempting to make my way through the list - most so far have been good so I have faith in the judgements. Is there something that I'm not getting?

Anyone seen the whole thing? Is it worth watching? I'm at the part where the British(?) boat is there and they're sitting in the submarine in darkness s-h-i-t-t-i-n-g themselves.

    Ta.

Eh. I really like it, but it seems like the kind of film that the average person wouldn't enjoy so much.

    Because the average person sucks.

One of the finest movies ever produced. Do you know which version you're watching? The 'uncut' version (which funnily enough is slighty cut) clocks in at just under 5 hours, and is ****ing superb.

It's about 4hours including advertisements so I don't think its the uncut version. I have about half an hour left but so far it's really good. I can't wait to watch the ending - I'll let you know!

I've just watched the end and sobbed so hard. MY GOD. I thought I couldn't take any more when they all thought they were going to die at the bottom of the ocean and then they made it back home. And then, oh look. DEATH. I'm so glad I watched to the end, thanks for the encouragement! +1
