When I attend events, all the girls seem to drink beer and I always end up being the odd one out drinking wine.

Is wine only appropriate with meals?

Feel free to drink whatever you want in my eyes! I tend to drink cider in pubs and mixers/alcopops in clubs. Personally, I can't stand wine, but I never tend to care about what others are drinking around me. I wouldn't say wine is only for meals though.

I like a nice red wine Creme de Cassis is also good, but a little expensive to buy in England so I get whenever I go to France- only €4 a bottle over there!

I find beer disgusting! I never drink it. Wine is absolutely NOT just for meals!!! I'd say wine is the alcoholic drink I drink most away from meals to be honest. However I'd say I'm more inclined to have red wine with a meal as its quite heavy on its own.

The alcoholic beverages I enjoy are:

Cocktails: Strawberry Daiquiris, Cosmopolitan, WooWoo, Mojito, Strawberry Mojito,

Sangria, White Wine, Red Wine, Rose Wine, Cava, Champagne,

Irish Coffee,

Pimms,

On occasion if theres nothing else a Strongbow

And for a thirst quencher - Smirnoff Ice

Oh, I love how cheap good wine is everywhere else in Europe. We used to live in the Canary Islands and you could pick up a decent bottle of Red for about €3 to €4!

I know! It's so unfair! A bottle of good wine over here that would cost £20 is only a like €5 over there! I went to Germany last summer and Jaegermeister was only €8!!

I'm a Corona girl however i wont drink that at a club because all my friends drink wine/spirits and there's something weird with being the only one on beer

I know I'm not a girl. (Obvioulsly). I am, however, a bartender, and I can say with certainty that about a third of the drinks i serve to girls are wine. Then, probably just under a third drink sprits with a mixer (vodka + coke, gin + tonic etc), and the remainder drink lager/ale/cider (mostly in halves, occasionally in pints). Wine is certainly not only appropriate with meals.

EDIT: On weekends there's also a fair amount of cocktails going, but I'd still say that the above is true overall.

I'm a fan of reds too. Give me a Merlot Bourdeaux any day!

when i go out i'll stick to vodka and lemonade, and vodka and redbull
but at home i'll usually have disaronno and coke, vodka and orange lucozade or cocktails - fave is sex on the beach mmm

I don't mind wine (preferably white or rosé), but I much prefer beer/ale. I love Pimms, amaretto and single malt though
