Made a fatal mistake on personal statement
I just sent of my personal statement and realised I made a fatal mistake. I sent a little part I wrote up as draft in brackets to reminder me to add something there "My favourite Building in my area is[.........add it yourself] my
favourite vantage point" and it now appears that I copied something when I didnt ARGH! is this a big deal and will it effect my chances? I'm so worried

Too late, sorry bro. -
Re: Made a fatal mistake on personal statementHow long ago did you submit it?(Original post by hm64)
yes its with UCAS on the personal statement section not the reference statement from my referee, I feel absolutely devastated
Feeling devastated won't help.

Re: Made a fatal mistake on personal statementAnd are you applying through school?(Original post by hm64)
I've submitted it an hour ago...
If so: that won't be with UCAS yet - the school need to add the reference, then send it off to UCAS. Go in early tomorrow, find the person that it's with and ask them to send it back to you. You can change the PS and submit it again. -
Re: Made a fatal mistake on personal statementI'm not applying thru school/college sorry I should've been more specific I'm a mature student doing a pre access course at college at the moment, I applied by myself and I just paid a late fee to apply before June the 30th.(Original post by TheSownRose)

Re: Made a fatal mistake on personal statementIn that case, phoning UCAS is the best way forward.(Original post by hm64)

Also, a late fee? There shouldn't be any late fees...

Re: Made a fatal mistake on personal statementI feel for him but that's just TOO good.(Original post by Shafski)
Well, if it makes you feel better my friend got owned because he applied for optometry and wrote in his personal statement "I've always had an eye for this course" without realizing and ended up getting rejected everywhere! -
Re: Made a fatal mistake on personal statementIn a maths PS, I used the phrase "I derive enjoyment from mathematics".(Original post by Shafski)
