Accepted to foundation year as alternative? Is it likely/possible?
I have applied to do BSc Physics, I have accepted offers from Southampton and Hertfordshire, asking for AAB(Maths, Physics, one other), and 300 points(inc. maths and physics at C minimum) respectively.
I REALLY want to go to Southampton, but, I really don't think I'm doing well enough in my tests to get in with that offer, and I don't particularly want to go to Hertfordshire...
Does anyone know what the likelihood is, that Southampton will let me in on a foundation year, if I fail to reach the grades? And do I HAVE to accept Hertfordshire if I get the grades for that? Or, should I be able to do the foundation year, am I allowed to pick that instead?
Oh, and by the way, I'm not just being pessimistic, I'm almost 100% certain, I'm going to get a U in C4... And I'm normally right about my mark predictions, certainly in maths, to within about 5 UMS...
I would appreciate it a lot if anyone could help, or has been in a similar situation and can tell me what I should expect/what happened... Thanks a lot guys... -

If your firm offer you the foundation course then that would be fine - they have priority over your insurance. If they reject you and you try to get in through Clearing that's more difficult though.
And yes, they can offer you the foundation course, or if they don't you can suggest it to them. But do some research to see who they let on the foundation course as some only want students who didn't take the right A Levels and not students who just failed to meet their offer.
